When I try and restore my reading progress in my Kobo Libra Colour with the Kobo Utilities Plugin it seems to work, the percentage read shows up in the info tab, but when I actually open the book it just jumps to the beginning and then sets the reading progress to 0%. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong?

I don't see why they would be. The reading positions were saved by the app and I seem to only have one copy of each book on the device. (I have multiple in the calibre library though.) They're all sideloaded and they're all kepub. (A file ending in .kepub.epub is still a kepub, right? I've been converting them to kepub through calibre.) At first I thought it might be because I'm adding chapters to the books through fanficfare, but it happened to a sideloaded book that fanficfare hasn't touched. For clarity, my database got corrupted so I rebuilt it, which is why I'm trying to restore all my reading progress. |

The conversion process from epub to kepub adds position markers that are then used to save position. If you resend the book to the device, one hopes that the conversion is deterministic enough that the same markers will be added but...

I just created a new thread with a new release of Kobo Utilities with my changes included, including restoring of the new columns that was missing before. The thread can be found here: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=366110 @chaley, it would be great if you could update the plugin index to point to this new thread, thanks! |
