Koreader Png issue

I have an issue with koreader and kfmon too, with kobo aura h2o and firmware 4.34.00097: when i try to launch koreader (or kfmon) kobo simple open the png image. I could'nt remember if i installed koreader after the firmware update but i think that the update it is started after and i did'nt notice that.
I searched and read some threads about that but i can't found a work solution, i tried with patched firmware version but still don't work.
Somebody can help me? I would do not reinstall koreader and lose my statistic and bookmark, if is possible.

If you use KFMon to launch KOReader, you have to reinstall KFMon after every firmware update. If you use NickelMenu to launch KOReader via the .sh file, then you don't have to reinstall anything.

@Emix83: You probably got a FW update at one point, so you'll just have to reinstall KFMon.

There's a KFMon-only package just for that in the OCP thread.

It's a while since I saw this being discussed in any detail. What is the current best advice on installing KOReader on a Clara2E?

Is it:

"too buggy, don't do it"
"a bit buggy, but usable"
"perfectly acceptable"
something else?

Keep to nightlies and it might be slightly less worse, but essentially, like a Libra 2 or a Nia, it *might* randomly implode (i.e., hang or reboot). (Then again, at least for the Libra 2, the same is true of Nickel, so...

).

I have no idea how severe it can get and what kind of workflows (if any) "help", as I have none of the affected devices.

So, no bricking?, nothing more serious than having to reboot (maybe occasionally, maybe often)?

Kobo-wise I only have KOReader on a ClaraHD at the moment and I'm intending to keep my Libra2 as nickel-only. But I'm considering swapping my ClaraHD for a Clara2E and it's only a matter of time until my self-control crumbles.

IIRC, there's a "periodic document metadata save" option (that might even be enabled by default nowadays) in the [Document] tab to account for devices that might randomly implode, so you don't lose (too much of) your progress when it happens (because that should, hopefully, be the only outcome of a hard-reboot: losing unsaved "work")
