Comments Editor - OK and Cancel on Windows
Can someone remind me of how to 'press' 'the OK and Cancel buttons from the keyboard in the standalone Comments editor running under Windows 10.
I thought it was possible and I would have said the Alt+k and Alt+c accelerator key sequences would 'press' them, but that must be something else. FWIW the Alt+h and Alt+n sequences switch to the HTML and Normal tabs, and Ctrl+Tab toggles between them. But other Alt+ sequences insert the character pressed with Alt, e.g. Alt+a inserts an 'a' in the text - which doesn't seem right to me. Added: I want to edit my long-text Blurb columns in several hundred books - having to use the mouse is sub-optimal when editing text. BR Last edited by BetterRed; 01-08-2022 at 08:10 PM. |

esc will cancel and pressing tab and then enter will accept the dialog. tab doesnt insert tabs, what would be the use of inserting a tab in an html document anyway.

Ah-ha - when I press Tab in Normal mode the Normal tab button 'lights up', but if I then hit the Enter key the text is saved - i.e. the OK button is 'pressed'. Seeing the 'Normal' button 'light up' confused me.
However when I press Tab in HTML mode a tab char would appear to be inserted in the html text - which as you say is pointless. If I switch to Normal there's no evidence of the inserted Tabs, nor when I switch back to HTML. This added to my confusion. It's OK, now I know to switch to Normal mode, press Tab and Enter to save the edits. Been a while since I needed to edit the HTML code. BR |

In similar situations, I have used shift-tab to get out of the text edit field to a field where pressing enter will press the OK button. But, the HTML editor is not seeing shift key and inserting a tab.
