I ended up resetting it which was quick and painless. We will see if that changes it. I don't trust myself to use it without a cover. I will order a non wake cover and see if that helps too. Thanks for assisting. I really appreciate it!

Wait to see if the reset fixes the problem. The sleep cover should not cause a problem if it;s just sitting n one place. It's only a problem when it shifts and keep waking up the Kobo.

Thanks everyone! I will hold off on buying the cover until I see results of the reset. I'm hoping it'll work!!! |

I had this issue with the KA1 at launch. The official cover didn't put the Kobo to sleep but instead moving back and forth to sleep mode, draining the battery within the day. So I just decided to shut down the device completely at each reading session (and still doing that).

I wonder though if turning off the sleep cover function is sufficient. Nothing says the Kobo is still not detecting the magnet and just ignoring it Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk |

The last battery issue we solved (that I know of) was due to a problem with the sleep cover.

So far so good. Read for most of the day left yesterday and some today and am sitting at 88%. Tonight will be the true test to see if it worked. So far everything is performing like normal. Although I have the sleep cover feature turned off, I noticed that I cannot turn on the device if it is closed. Shouldn't that not be possible? But in hindsight, the only feature that is actually turned off is the wake to open and close to sleep.... ETA: Reset must have worked. There has been no significant loss of battery. I am still keeping off the sleep feature for now. Thanks all. Last edited by trksh22; 05-24-2021 at 01:18 PM. |
