Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as clear to me as glass - the Note Air's screen is brighter and more contrasty than that of the Likebook Alita, which is also used in the Note 3.

It's not just the SD card, it's also USB-OTG, where Boox devices can only handle standard Fat32, while Likebook devices can also cope with NTFS, for example - I've already used a 4 TB Seagate hard disk on my Alita, which is impossible with Boox.

Yeah, im really leaning Alita at the moment. Just wish the OS on Alita had as high reviews for usefulness and stability as Boox |

I know but the replies I get back have mainly been - Boox software is solid out of the box, Likebook not so much, tweaks, issues, or some people avoid the included software and find outside apps for Likebook. That's what I meant. (saw your reply about the LB Mars... basically Mars or Ares are small Alitas I think, but I fear the 8" screen might be too small if I'm considering this a daily writer/typer.) |

Therefore - Android is Android - the rest is software that you have to install separately. Quote:
But has the same number of pixels as Alita, 1872 x 1404 - 300 dpi. But costs half. | |||

Thanks for the heads up on mars. I'll look further into it. I get your meaning now about software (a little thick sometimes...) |

The plastic layer in a Mobius display is the substrate, i.e. behind the display. No light passes through it and there is no way for it have an effect on screen contrast or brightness since the eInk display itself is opaque.

He is not kidding. The substrate is what the display is built upon. In the image below, the layer labelled 8 is the substrate. Code: Legend Item 1 Upper layer 2 Transparent electrode layer 3 Transparent micro-capsules 4 Positively charged white pigments 5 Negatively charged black pigments 6 Transparent oil 7 Electrode pixel layer 8 Bottom supporting layer 9 Light 10 White 11 Black Last edited by DNSB; 03-08-2021 at 03:16 PM. Reason: Edit: expanded on layer 1. |
