Is it possible to use NickelMenu to change how pages are turned on the touch screen? It would be good to be able to change to tapping or swiping. If it can be done current, ho? If not, can it be added in? Thanks.

I also like the idea of using the beta features flask icon.

Would it be possible to have some kind of "command line" interface? I'm thinking of a way of running/launching/triggering arbitrary features without having to add them to the menu first. For instance, I don't usually need to rescan books, so I don't have "nickel_misc: rescan_books" in the menu. But if I sometime want to do it, I'd like to have "live" way of doing it, like a command prompt where I can actually "nickel_misc: rescan_books" or whatever and have it do its magic. |

Thanks for the ideas! I like a few of those, but my main problem remains the same. I've been trying to come up with a design which won't stand out form the existing one (1px outline, simple shape, no fill unless pressed, made of sharp angles or perfectly round ones), but is still distinctive and clear.

				orientation does not stay

Hello, I have a clara hd with 4.24.15676 firmware. Should orientation be kept when going from the main menu to for example "my books" or when you go direcly to read a book? I am asking because in my case it doesnt happen. I know I have the option to change to landscape when I am at "my books" or any other main menu by adding the option to nickelmenu but my ebook fell recently and the touchpad is unresponsive at the top of the screen, so I am unable to use the library menu that you find at "my books" since it is located at the top right. Could orientation be kept unchanged when going through the different items of the ebook? Thanks Last edited by fluffier; 10-23-2020 at 02:33 AM. |

If I may make a logo suggestion: as my fellow Canadian @Geek1011 knows, Kobo is headquartered in Toronto. From 1942 to 1963, the Canadian nickel (five-cent coin) wasn't round, but instead was a regular dodecagon (a 12-sided polygon): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodecagon So, how about a dodecagon outline with three horizontal lines (a hamburger menu) within it? This would fit in with the current Kobo icon style (including the "brightness" sun, "settings" gear, and "search" magnifying glass), and: (1) honour Kobo's origins; (2) acknowledge geek1011's creation of NickelMenu; and (3) be "read" as exactly what it represents: "nickel menu." I'm no artist, and the outline lines should probably be thicker, but something like this: My two -- ur, FIVE -- cents' worth. Rob |

How do you install NickelMenu AND KOReader ? First the former, then the latter, or is the latter included in the former?
