My mistake, it shouldn't have been in this list, nor should Doitsu's Language Tools Grammar Check. I have a vague memory of him sending me a PM about them, I must have neglected to save the changes in the other list

If you're referring to Set to NULL feature in JS Config, it overwrites the entire content of Comments with a single '/', whereas the Cleaning Comments PI removes the markup but retains the substantive content - i.e. the stuff that we humans read

In Job Spy the feature is called something like "Convert Comments to Plain Text."

JS needs a 'Find in JobSpy' feature (a'la Tweaks, Shortcuts etc) in its top menu.

I use the Favourites Menu plugin mostly because the Job Spy menus are such a pain to go through.

And the plugins I haven't released above are examples of this. Looking at them, I updated them within a few days of the original Python 3 announcement. I didn't release them then as there was no hurry, and I wanted to see if other changes were needed. Most of the plugins that I have released Python 3 versions of are ones that have needed other changes, or someone explicitly asked about.

I wanted to give people a heads up as the new release of Calibre is due soon. It never occurred to me to do it the way you suggested but both ways have their advantages and disadvantages.

In any case it got a reaction and hopefully we will now not see so many people posting complaints that their favourite plugin does not work.

One elephant in the room is the Apprentice Alf plugin. The current release doesn't work with the beta. There is clearly work going on (see github) but I haven't seen any indication for when a python 3-compatible version will happen.

In the mean time: People who use it could retain a V4 install for deDRMing, easy on Windows, just install a Portable V4 and install Alf's gadget in it. There used to be stand-alone version, if it still exists they could use that.

Yeah, am *really* not looking forward to the flood of calibre update broke my deDRM setup posts. But the python 3 beta has been available for eight months now, cannot wait forever.

Perhaps a standard reply could be written for such postings. Then anyone could use it to answer them and you could ignore them

That's what I am going to do until the DeDRM plugin is fixed for Python 3. I'll install the last version 4 Calibre portable ad copy over my settings.
