so purchased a book from the kindle store

hey

i purchased a book from amazon kindle store but i want to change the format of the book and then upload it to my ereader without the need for using kindle app.

on pc kindle it refuses to download the book saying it is not suitable for my device.

but i can download it on my android phone but couldn't find the book to change it's format.

Check for

files.

i found two folders that start with B letter

The location of the main book folder can vary somewhat by device, but it will be something like "/sdcard/Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files" or "/storage/sdcard1/Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files/Books/amzn1.account.xxxxxx". Each book is contained in a separate sub-folder named with the ten character ASIN of the book.

Even if you locate the book file you won't be able to do anything with it in most cases. Most books have DRM and as far as I know there is currently no working method for DRM removal from the Kindle for Android app. Even if the publisher has requested that the book be made available without DRM, if it has Enhanced Typesetting then it will be in KFX format and cannot be converted from Kindle for Android.

yeah the thing is i couldnt find these kfx files.
but found the folders following this

/Android/data/com.amazon.kindle/files/Bxxxxxxxxx/

but inside new formats never saw before

That is odd. There should also be several files with a .kfx extension in the same folder. I don't know why you can't see them. Perhaps they are hidden somehow.

As I wrote before, you won't be able to do anything with them anyway.

That only works if you own an e-ink Kindle device.

I was going to say, it might be easiest just to pick up a cheap, older Kindle somewhere, Craigslist, Shop Goodwill, eBay or even Woot. (Woot currently has Kindle Keyboards listed for $20 and Kindle 4s and Touches for – I think – $22.) I just download my Amazon books to my Kindle 4, then transfer them to Calibre and then move them to ePub from there.

Any kindle reported lost, stolen, or if someone sells it and is clueless (doesn't delete account), panics and reports it to Amazon, it's blacklisted. Then only eBooks without DRM can be used, no collections and only USB transfer.
The serious eBay resellers indicate if a Kindle can be registered or is "Blocked" (blacklisted).
I purely have a Kindle for two reasons:
1) To buy via USB from Amazon (the Kindle Serial number is in Calibre)
2) To check formatting of eBooks I create.
I proof read and read at home on a Kobo H2O original. Superior for annotation. I read away from home on a Sony PRS350, or sometimes on my phone. I deleted Amazon Kindle App from Phone & Tablet as it connects to Amazon even when I'm not reading! I use an ePub & PDF reader that doesn't "call home". Note that Adobe DRM of ePub "calls home" if possible.
I support copyright. I live outside USA, so I'll state that DMCA is contrary to International Copyright Treaties. DRM probably is too, as usually it doesn't expire (except to block content!) and usually blocks fair use.

I've bought quite a few used Kindles from pawn shops, eBay, Shop Goodwill and Craigslist. I've had ONE that was blacklisted in all this time. (My Dad, who won't use WiFi, is using that one (a Kindle Keyboard) after I tried to send it Amazon so they could give it back to the original owner. They just told me to take it back to the pawn shop to get my money back?) But, even if you don't want to use any of the above shops, Woot is owned by Amazon and they sell their used ("refurbished") Kindles with a 90 day warranty. This one would work for the OP.

The advice to obtain an inexpensive Kindle is generally good, but before doing that make sure that the book you want to convert is compatible with that device or you will be wasting your money.

I've never found any books on Amazon that wouldn't download to my Kindle 4. Is this something I need to worry about?

If you read novels in English then probably not. However book containing certain content such as audio/video or in Arabic or Indic languages will probably not be available for delivery to your device.
