That's certainly not true. What problem are you experiencing when you try to convert a Kindle book to PDF? It's something I've done on several occasions, and it works absolutely fine. Obviously you need to set the PDF page size appropriately for the target device, but once you've got that right, it works very well indeed.

Do you get an error when you try to convert any Mobi book to PDF format, or does the error only occur with that one particular book? Can you convert that book to a different format, such as ePub? I've just tried converting a couple of different Mobi books to PDF with 64-bit Calibre 3.4 running on Windows 10 and it worked fine. |

If you get an error when you try to convert the Mobi file to ePub, that suggests that the problem lies with that particular Mobi file. I'd suggest reporting the bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/calibre and attaching the Mobi file to the bug report. Mark the report as "private" so the book is not publicly visible. Are you able to read the Mobi book on a Kindle (or Kindle App)? Last edited by HarryT; 07-19-2017 at 04:24 AM. |

2.50 is a fairly old RELEASE version. Since 3.x is out, there will not be 'bug fixes' (no more 2.x releases) on 2.x, even if it was a bug. |

Kindle firmware 5.6.5 or later receives most books from Amazon in KFX format, which cannot be converted by calibre. A more up-to-date calibre version would have given an explicit message about KFX and referred you to the thread on dealing with KFX format. (If you have an e-ink Kindle you should use the third method described there.)
