Adding personal PDF files to KOBO Wireless

Hi All, I got a used KOBO wireless ereader as a giveaway gift. However, when I try to copy PDF files to it using windows explorer, the files don't show up after disconnecting the device from the computer. Any clue how to solve this issue? I tried Calibre 2.79.1 with no lock as well. I tried also to reset the device and to sync it using the KOBO desktop application without any positive result. I have only the built-in 100 books in addition to any free files I get from KOBO desktop application. In the menu, the "News & Mags" and the "Documents" sub-menus are always dimmed with no contents. It might be an old question like the age of this model. However, I tried to search the internet and this forum and I found no specific answers. Thanks and best regards, |

First thought is where are you putting the files on the device? If you put it in a directory with a period (".") in front of the name, the device UI won't see it (it's a hidden OS directory). Can't remember if the wireless had that.

That sounds distinctly like a bug with the last version of the firmware released for the WiFi. It is discussed in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=230628. The only solution found is to rewrite the internal SD card with a new image. If you want to try, post a request for the image in that thread.

I tried all the alterbatives (in the root top-level directory, in a hidden directory starting with . like .kobo, and in a normal non-hidden directory) All without a positive result Regards | |
