This is ONE reader I'll be buying! No doubt. No hesitation. No equivocation. No money. I have the money! |

Well, I thought I would buy a Paperwhite once my current H20 breaks down one day, but now I am not that sure.

And it's probably less than two months. The availability is usually about a month after the announcement. And that should be in the next two or three weeks. And, of course, that's speculation without any real evidence. | |

I was hoping for an official release date announcement Monday or Tuesday, which is mid-August. That's if we take what the Kobo CEO said on face value. First day purchase for me. |

Yes I forgot, mid August but Amazons Oasis release was great - the announcement, the 'leak', then the release, all within a couple of weeks. Everyone was frantically trying to buy one, things moved so quickly it was all over the press, that's how it should be done. With this one I'm already losing interest lol

The screen appears to be exactly 7.776" in size (not quite 7.8") if the leaked pictures are accurate. This equates to 300.93 or ~301 ppi. The iPad mini is exactly 7.9" in size, so if anyone's wondering how the new Kobo reader will compare in size to all the 6" models, search for a comparison between the iPad mini and any of the 6" readers out there. Just keep in mind that the Kobo's display is 0.124" (~3.15mm) smaller than the iPad mini. |
