I suspect it's a router problem. I've been having problems with mine lately. Even though the lights stay lit, the Internet goes out, and a reboot of the modem is the only way to get it all back.

I have purchased 2 Fire phones, a HD6, 3 7" tablets, (2 8GB and 1 16GB) a HD 10 32 GB, and a Fire stick within the last couple of years. One phone went back with internet connection problems otherwise GOOD luck with all of them.

I wonder why Amazon has sent you sooo many defective devices.

I always wondered if the stick somehow was more sensitive to router things. None of the other boxes I have had ever had any issues. We have no control over what router we have, we get it from the internet provider. We did get a new one though a while back and unfortunately, that did not make my stick work any better. So in my case, it was probably something else. I never bothered to send it back as it was a sale and well, I just didn't bother. It worked here and there, just not reliably.

I could not be more happy with the FireTV box though. It has now replaced my Roku, which I loved for years also.

I am just so giddy about all the things I can watch now. I can watch HD quality TV shows being broadcast in Germany, while I live in the US. So I can get some of the language back I seem to have forgotten. My mother in Germany did get a kick out of me watching the same show they just watched that evening. And today the quality of streaming is just astounding to me and the FireTV has a fantastic picture and speed for all of that.

Best thing since the Echo I got from Amazon. Besides my Oasis of course.

PW 2 & 3 kept eating my books so I couldn't read them.. I put them on they Vanish! Yet Calibre & my PC said they were there. My Fire 10 was purchased at Best Buy.... Amazon Refuses to trade me for another. Says its working Yet I still have Lots of space taken up by those Updates. Their way of giving me space is to Remove ALL my Movies! Which were Not even On the Device, but were on the SDCard.
I have Owned 2-K3, 2-original HD 7...ones you could hookup to your TV & 2- Fire Phones NOT One did I have Problems with.... So not sure what you are referring to.....

ALL I trying to do is Find out WHY this Stick is Not Working. No Its NOT the Wifi nor internet. Otherwise please explain Why my son can LIVE Stream his Program while I was setting the Stick up & NOT Once did his Program Stop??? Sounds to me its the STICK itself that has a Bad Wifi. & That's what I telling Amazon next week when I return it...hopefully for a Working Stick!

Did you say your son was streaming while you were trying to set up?
It didn't work because he was using most of the broadband. No it won't affect the first user.
Try setting up while he is not using the internet.

Oh and please do yourself a favor if the next stick doesn't work. Quit giving Jeff money. I am sure you will be much happier.

Actually, threads for the Fire TV belong in the Lounge. That's where the Amazon Echo thread is located. The primary uses for these devices are non-book related (video, music, tasks, etc). Both devices do have limited audiobook functionality and discussions concerning this feature belong in the Audiobook Hardware & Software forum.

I don't think I bought much on Prime Day itself, but did save a bunch of money on the various PD deals that day.

I just activated, used, and then deactivated my first Dash button. Bought it for $1, got a $5 credit for using it.
