Well, you've got it. Both SE and CE will have a nice UI for adjusting page margins.

Thanks for adding margin control to BookMaster! Will margin control and header/footer control be available in MapleRead as well?

There is no change on header/footer yet. Let me think about this issue for a day or two before a further reply. Quote:

I'm really liking the latest margin notes app update, but am eternally curious about reading apps... Does this app have vertical scrolling and can you update highlights to Evernote easily?

I prefer an option for hiding the header and footer rather than dimming them too.

There are a few things that trouble me about using BookMaster which I am hoping is down to my ignorance as a new user. I would prefer the app opens to the current book when started. When font and other layout settings are changed it would be very useful if there was an option to change for this book only or for all books. Very disappointed there doesn't appear to be away of synchronising with Calibre. Very important if you have a large library. On balance a happy reader but really looking forward to seeing the missing features.

See FAQ "How to import books from Calibre via its Content Server?". Are you using BookMaster CE or SE ?

There are certainly a few ways to import books from Calibre but, I was writing about synchronising back to Calibre. On further thought, I used to use this feature with Marvin and Calibre so I could keep my iPhone synced with my iPad, via Calibre which may no longer be necessary - see next. I'm looking forward to the iPhone version of BookMaster and hoping that when setting up one device (iPad) as a server that all the information about the library will be transferred to the second device (iPhone). Things such as reading position, font and layout settings, any meta changes and, perhaps most importantly, Sets details. I have BookMaster SE - Now retired, I was an IT professional for over twenty five years, so I like to support developers. I decided to jump right in and get SE even if I have no need of the specific features. You guys have worked hard and deserve support.

Question: What Calibre columns are used when transferring to BookMaster, and is there a mapping available? It would be useful, for example, to set up Sets in Calibre before transferring. |

Just a quick/early review to anyone who may be on the fence about purchasing Bookmaster. After purchasing Bookmaster SE today and playing around with the settings, here are my thoughts:
Bottom line, if you are looking for an E-reader app I would highly suggest Bookmaster. I am not a guy who has tried every e-reader app but I have tried a few and I can say that this app is the best out of the ones I have used. This app is so good that I actually signed up just so I can leave a review which I never do...and which you can probably tell by reading this ramble I tried looking for things to complain about but I can't find any. My one suggestion would be having support for .cbz files so I can read my online comics using Bookmaster but I understand I may be in the minority. |
