				How about a hint?
Any hints if there is a new Kobo coming anytime soon, with a micro sd card slot or are they going the way of the dodo? Susie |

Kobo is not very good about advance notice. The day my Glo HD's warranty expires, it will get 32G of memory installed. Both of our Minis are 32G. I want to put EVERY book on there and carry it around with me, forever. I'd pay more for an SD slot or PLENTY of storage! |

I love using SD cards for books. My mother has a nook and I have a kobo aura h2o so if I get a good book and finish it, I just swap our cards for her to read. I also like this system for getting a new ereader, no need to find and put all my favorite books on the computer just swap the card. I highly recommend the kobo aura h2o if you want an ereader with SD card. I like the size of the screen, but if you prefer smaller devices then it might not be for you.

PatrickTC, I loved my Aura hd! Unfortunately, the usb port is messed up and prevents calibre from recognizing it. And I'm not technically savvy enough to try to fix it. I tried the Aura but ppi are less and therefore text isn't as sharp. Cocopuff, the H2O definitely has sd card? Cuz that is a definite plus! Susie |

I originally thought it was Windows 10, davidfor, but it seems it will connect briefly and be recognized, but them Windows tells me it malfunctioned and can't be seen. It is very frustrating, to say the least! Susie |

Maybe a reinstall of Windows 10 will fix the problem.

That sounds like a flaky connection; either cable, PC port, or the Kobo itself.

The solution was to change the cover on the Glo HD. I originally used a cheap cover I had used on the Glo for a year. While it fit, it wasn't perfect. After a while, some cracks developed in the corners of the cover that gripped the device. That meant the device sat in a slightly different position. This prevented the cable from being pushed in as far as it was before, but it looked like it was OK. When I realised what had happened, and made sure the cable was seated correctly, everything was OK. It was even better when I replaced the cover with an official Kobo cover (expensive, but very nice). The moral of the story: Check the cable, check it's plugged in at each end, reboot, sacrifice a goat, reboot, restart the device, use USBDeview to remove all traces of Kobo USB devices and reboot. | |

Will try all these ideas (except maybe the goat sacrifice!) Thanks all! If no luck tho, I think the H2O is what I need, not the Aura! Susie |

Well, you could try a chicken, but I think you are already past that level. Quote:

Another question: it seems the e-ink on the Aura is not as black as on the Aura HD. Is the print on the H2O a dark black or more toward dark grey? These old eyes need all the help they can get! Susie |

The H2O and GloHD both have the newer Carta screen which has 'blacker blacks' than the earlier Pearl screens.

And the Aura isn't the greatest looking Pearl screen either, so the Aura HD looks better, as well as both the H2O & Glo HD with their Carta eink screens being a lot better too.
