- You will see a 'Hello, [your name]' message in the upper right corner.

- Click on the number next to that to show a list of Submitted Corrections
- For each book, there will be a 'submitted corrections' link, click on that to see status

Anybody else truly register how dumb everything that that sentence connotes is?

Just really, really wanna see some more funky word size changes! No idea why it excites me so but the Yo was, i admit, fairly funkgruous.

I tried that, for some reason it only shows the corrections that have not been done yet? Do they disappear after fixed?

I've had corrections sat there for /months/ without being looked at. I've given up reporting them.

Hard telling. I suggest you just get a book with enhanced typesetting enabled (even if it doesn't show dropcaps yet in the books I read) and start reading. You won't really see what exactly is different, except it looks and reads nicer. After a while you get so used to it and makes you wonder: what is the big deal, reads just like before. But it doesn't - the much more even spacing between words and I suppose within words makes the whole page look more uniform. Like from a distance it is one shade of gray instead of weird whitespace patterns and lines. Ligatures and kerning you fly right over (at least I do) without giving them a second thought. Open an old book and the difference becomes apparent right away.

Kinda disconcerting to see that I have corrections out there that are almost a year old, although I suppose it's not too surprising that Amazon isn't paying for the manpower to keep it up to date.

Though unlike Robmonster, I'm going to keep at it, just because it makes me feel better.

I don't think it should be up to Amazon to willy nilly correct books. Should be up to the publisher - in case of self-pub the author to make corrections. Especially if it is a correctly spelled word in the wrong content.

I looked it up because I was curious, and it appears I have over 30 corrections still listed.

I have no idea how many I actually submitted, because I gave up due to lack of visible feedback (or updated books) in fairly short order.



Those corrections are well over a year old -- try 2 or 3!



I had heard a rumor that Amazon submits corrections to the publisher and then breathes down their neck about it.

Right, but the corrections on the site from December 2014 onward aren't marked as "processed" yet. To me, that means they haven't been collated and submitted to the publisher yet.

Yeah gotta agree with you there... theres something about the enhanced books that just make them... "zippier" to read. Really impressive and lovely to look at. I just wish theyd hurry up and update the android app with the features already!!! Surely theres a not negligible amount of people reading on their android tabs/mobile phones!

Oh, and update the Lord of the Rings books too!

On an updated version the of Jane Eyre, my Voyage vs my Android app, small font sizes with Caecilia, the kerning and character sizes become more apparent. Letters are greatly 'thinned', and spacing between most letters are obviously reduced. What I cant seem to see is context dependent changes - stuff like 'this e' is skinnier than 'that e' coz its next to 'this i' or shatever. I see a uniform reshaping of all letter e's, amongst other letters, and also the white space removed in combinations like 'rt' or 'rb' etc. And all in all i believe the text (at least, for Bookerly) appears overall taller. Which is cool, but not too exciting.

Also in some enhanced books im getting some crazy margins being forced on me: some pages set to a WIDE margin still end up starting like,a cm or so from the edge of the screen! Its only really bad in some books... anybody else noticed? Hoping the fix it....

It's difficult to have meaningful discussions when you keep changing your story. A few days ago you told us that you'd sold your Voyage and bought a Galaxy Note, that "reading books on a tablet is about a thousand times better than reading anything on an ereader", that you were "dropping out of the ereading game permanently", and that we should all "do ourselves a favour and get rid of all our ereaders and just get a tablet with a high resolution".

Now, however, you seem to be using a Voyage again. Have you bought another one?

Could someone who has new PW 300dpi with firmware 5.6.5 and also uses sideloaded azw3 books with soft hyphens added (via Hyphenate This plugin) confirm that all still works well?
