I'm guessing the sight of chapters and page numbers insult you as well? After all, you know when the story has changed and therefor a new chapter has started.

I agree wholeheartedly with your sarcasm.

I'll be staying with 3.8.-patched until ALL the reading stats and all the "selfie" menus/features can be disabled, these are not a enhancements to a ereader, who cares if I've read a book in 1 sec or 10 days.

Why can't kobo dev's focus on fixing the bugs within the primary features of the ereader, there's a bug list right here and I'm sure they have a bug list of their own, why don't they fix bugs which will make people sing the praises of their product which will draw more buyers to the product, instead, the firmware needs patching and hacking to make some basic features useable, i.e. full page display, margin setting, font resizing, direct to library search, proper series display of books, etc..

I just don't get it.

Does this page with message/stats appear at the end of the epub? Because it doesn't appear at the end of a sideloaded kepub, although I have reading stats active.

And I totally agree with Peter, developers focus on what managers say they have to do, not on what a forum in Internet say. Don't forget, developers aren't in customer department.

It only appears when finishing a purchased kepub. I was thinking it was all kepubs, but it was the review/rating tile that appears for all kepubs.

Personally, I wish they would display it for all books. With an option to turn it off for all those people who only read books that have "The End" at the end.

I really like that the dictionary choice is fixed per book. Changing from translation to single language dictionary every time to once per book is a great improvement, as is the annotation bug correction: I often go to and fro when reading and tap the corner for easy fro-ing. The complicated manoeuvre to get rid of it was annoying - worse when I forgot and the device restarted.

i like some userstats but my main goal is reading, not to be annoyed with all information on screen, it is relaxing for me, not a competition.
I find it okay when they add things like this,as long as there is a setting to put it off, for me it is not important to have those kind of statistics where u can easy fool yourself, some books are not so easy to read but they are good, but then you have to skip these or your average words per minute is dropping.

That would not be fair either, I have a special form of dislectic, I see words as pictures,therefore I read very fast,but I don't actually read the words, I scan complete parts of a page, I am more busy with turning pages then reading words.. I don't even see the vowels.

I've never heard my Aura HD or Aura make a sound. I don't think they even have speakers. When I finish a book it takes me directly out to the home page. I don't get any extra screens.

You have my sympathies if you're a hard working "re-directed" Dev, I can only imagine the frustration of those Dev's who care but are redirected to other "stuff".

Somewhere I red about a sound at the end of a book, I think it is my mistake,mixed some things

GeoffR, thank you for the updated patch. I had hoped to avoid patching, since I always prefer to run vanilla FW if I can, but since Kobo seems completely unable to fix the line spacing bug with certain fonts, this is a great help.

Tried the "one hand" reading,also asked some friends to do it, I see a simularity, we all held the right bottom corner of the reader in the palm of your hand, two fingers behind,between the fingers the "flap" of the cover, use thumb to change.
Sliding works perfect but that works good before the update.
Go one page further works, turn back doesn't.
When you hold the reader in the middle you get tired arms, it looks like muscle training,so that is why we let it rest in the palm of the hand,certain the Aura HD is to heavvy for one hand reading if you don't let the reader rest in the palm of the hand... While my friends and I and my GF held it all the same way,it is I think different how you hold it for many persons, in my and my friends way, I entered the menu all the time with the Glo.. it is useless.
The longer shining light with the Glo .. when i press the sleep button it displays a totally black screen with almost no light at all,then the cover comes back and is lighted again,and 1 second later it turns out..
I really can't see why this function is there and who has requested it this way.
With the Aura HD it works the same, but the light wents out in two steps... wow.. two new functions that adds really nothing to the reader, but against those two new ones are still the known buglist.. I hope someone of Kobo reads this,fix those known bugs first,why do we still have to use patches just to use the device the way other brands can be used normally,then think of new functions that add something to the reading experience.. the light thing doesn't and for a major part of users the new page turning option for one handed reading doesn't to !
