To the best of our knowledge, 3.5.0 is still be sent out. But, it seems to be being sent slower than other firmware.

I did finally load a patched v3.5, the line, margins, full page, light settings are a breath of fesh air, that "patch" has restored my faith in v3.5 and made reading a pleasure, I've now settled down to enjoying the books, the occasional auto reset that it does with nested TOC's is liveable.

I still don't have the 3.5 firmware (I'm not in a hurry though). Usually I'd have it by now.

Would you mind sharing the source of the best of your knowledge? Is it based on any observation and reasoning? Or on some kind of trustworthy source? From your using "our" I would have the impression it is the second case.

Good point. I think I side loaded 3.5.0 originally, as I was fed up of waiting for Kobo to distribute it directly to my reader. So I guess wherever the factory reset restart code goes to check couldn't see the released 3.5.0 firmware and decided to set me back to the latest one it knew about.

It was probably badly stated, but there is no real evidence that 3.5.0 has been pulled. Until I see someone state they earlier received 3.5.0 and did a factory reset and didn't receive it, I'll go along with DNSB's earlier statement of the roll-out speed being "glacial".

I take it as an evidence that FW 3.5.0 was sent out at some point to devices that identfied their affiliate as "bestbuyca", and that this does not happen any longer (it is back to 3.3.0 for Touch, Glo, Aura HD, Aura). I know this is no proof. But since I am not aware of any report that somebody got FW 3.5.0 in the recent past, apart from sideloading it, I think it is a strong hint that roll-out has generally been stopped.

For the same reason why they leave any upgrade file on the distribution server after its roll-out has stopped (apart from the few cases when they stopped delivering one specific version of an update package and replaced it by a new one with the same file name). What the reason is however, I don't know. But I am glad they do it that way.

I'd forgotten that an affiliate that downloaded 3.5.0 had been posted. I've just tried a few others and they are all getting 3.3.0 for my Glo. From that I have to agree with you, it looks like Kobo are not sending 3.5.0 out. I have asked the question on the beta list. We'll see what response I get.
