![]() Just a heads up for anyone who's collecting the Reed Brothers series by Tammy Falkner, Proving Paul's Promise also at Kobo came out early [today]. Great timing for me because I just finished a book last night.

I love shoes (my closet knows it). I prefer the colouring in Auntykat's shoes but the other shapes. Anyway, I like both of them.

The first 2 were my favorite [about Logan and Emily], but I've been waiting for Paul's story since the start so I'm excited.

![]() I've had this one in my library since it came out, I really need to get on this one, it's rated ridiculously high: 4.52 with over 12,000 ratings at GoodReads! This is the first time it's been on sale for $1. Making Faces by Amy Harmon blurb: Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was thirteen. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore. Making Faces is the story of a small town where five young men go off to war, and only one comes back. It is the story of loss. Collective loss, individual loss, loss of beauty, loss of life, loss of identity. It is the tale of one girl's love for a broken boy, and a wounded warrior's love for an unremarkable girl. This is a story of friendship that overcomes heartache, heroism that defies the common definitions, and a modern tale of Beauty and the Beast, where we discover that there is a little beauty and a little beast in all of us. |

![]() Anyway, the story seems really good. And I love that it's a standalone. I'll put that in my wishlist, since the price isn't dropped on Kobo (yet?). |

I grabbed Making Faces too, based on the ridiculously high ratings and the fact that it's not in first person for a change.

Ok who's read Sweet Savage Love by Rosemary Rogers? It is coming out in ebook this month, $3.82 for a 700+ page book! I don't know if I ever read anything by that author. Published in 1974. Who is planning to read it? I looked it up because it's on the character Charley Davidson's book shelf, mentioned several times. Some of the reviews on goodreads are great!

Oh I hope they didn't edit it for modern audiences. Aren't Rogers and Woodiwiss kind of considered to have started the epic saga type historical romances? I finally read The Flame and the Flower a while back and I think they kept it in its original glory. I might pre-order this. What a fantastic price for such a long book. |

. I read some crazy ones way back. There seemed to be lots of Harem stories too. Heck even my beloved "Angelique" series is not for the faint of heart. More harem in that one too among lots of other stuff. I read that when I was 11-13 or so. Those were written in the 60's though. Also not really romance. I have to be in the mood for them. I am a big mood reader. Sometimes I just feel like reading something that I want to simultaneously throw against the wall and clutch to my chest. Plus I am such a huge fan of historical romance that I want to read at least many of the older greats. As long as I know what I am getting into I am good. ![]() Storm Fire is another one I want to get my hands on. The used prices are outrageous on that one and I want an ebook anyway. I don't know if I'l ever get one. And again, I might have read that one before in the past, who knows. Things are blurry back there. ![]() Would have had to be in german translation though since obviously that is what I could only read at the time. So if it wasn't translated, I haven't read it yet. Thanks for the interesting perspectives. I don't know if I want to read it, or not. I'll read many more reviews before I decide.

Like Atunah said I have to be in the mood for a bodice ripper. The last one I read was Lady Vixen by Shirlee Busbee and it would be considered light hearted compared to Sweet Savage Love. |
