Yes, that's what I did. US residents cannot purchase an electronic gift card from the US site. I changed my country to Australia and sent it as a gift to another email account registered at Kobo UK.

Kobo can be particular regards to using the gift card for purchases. It might have something to do with new and old site. My card can't be used in every country so it's best to buy it where you most likely will use it.

Fbone was referring to my unfortunate encounter with high bank charges on a holiday in India. The books cost £0.01 each. The bank charge for each transaction was £1.00.

You can't change country if you have saved payment information. Try deleting this, and the country tab should be enabled again.

Well I just mutli tabbed in the India store and had the same experience as mentioned by a couple of other posters: Internal Error. See below for a pic of the error.

Any yet the book went into my library as normal. I haven't received a receipt either.

(And no, I couldn't re-use the code after the purchase went through.)

Heavens above ..... don't tell me that Kobo might be trying to fix this wonderful initiative that they've been trialling!!!

@indyglow I'm not sure what you mean .....

What I do is to go as far as entering the promo code, but no further, until I've gathered all the books I want into their various tabs.

So, I select a book and then go through to the part where I enter the promo code.

Then I select another book and Open Link in New Tab, where I go through to the part where I enter the promo code.

Then select another book and go through the step above, and continue doing this till I have all the books that I want in their separate tabs with the promo codes entered.

Then I finalise each transaction, one at a time. And I wait till each transaction is completed before I finalise the next book, etc.

Is that what you do?
