Anyone get shipping notice for their Paperwhite 2 yet ??

For people who REALLY can't wait (or ordered recently and won't ship for another week or so) I noticed that local B&M stores like Best Buy have it in stock in some of there stores.

I don't know about you guys, but I greatly dislike that "Shipping Now" status that Amazon uses these days. Don't give me "now" if it's not really NOW. *rant mode off* :P

I find it a little annoying too. Worst of all was one time I had an order sit on "shipping now" status for over 2 weeks. I'm just hoping mine really comes tomorrow and nothing goes wrong.

I've had Kindle orders arrive with the status still showing "Preparing to Ship".

It may very well be. I hope so! In all the years I've gotten orders from Amazon, and that is a lot of years and a lot of orders, only one or two were late. One was late because the carrier screwed up, but I don't think they use Ensenda any more, at least not in my area.

Same here! Mine are always on time, except a few times when they used the carrier Prestige who at the time were horribly unreliable. They have since improved, at least in my area. I'm pretty sure my PW will come either via UPS or FedEx though.

Yeah, I always get UPS delivery between 5 and 6. Makes me wonder what the heck they do the rest of the day.

Mine was shipped and left the seller facility. The serial number is recorded at the Manage Your Kindle site. The order page shows a delivery by Oct 2. However, after clicking the tracking number in the email it turns out it went by FEDEX Smart Post with a delivery date of Oct 3 by the US MAIL.

FEDEX delivers to the post office and the post office sends it with the regular mail carrier to my house.

At least its on the way now with a tracking number. I presume that those, who paid extra for one day delivery, got it today by UPS.

Last time I went to Amsterdam I checked the Waterstones they didn't have Kindles, but that was a while ago. A trip to Amsterdam is indeed a lot cheaper, and I wanted to visit anyway to stock up on some art supplies. I'll call the Waterstones in Amsterdam at the end of October and see if they have the PW2 by then and what it cost.

At the moment a PW2 plus shipping and tax is about €152, only €13 more than on Amazon.de. However, I'm also concerned about defects, if there are screen problems I wouldn't want to have to send it back to the US (even if Amazon refunds the shipping costs).

Waterstones in Brussels is 200 m from my office. As far as I remember it was 169€ wifi. Do not buy in euro from Amazon.com, leave it in usd. Mine cost me 147€, ing conversion. Amazon has higher rate always than you bank.
By the way to send it back to US you print label and deliver it to your nearest UPS drop off centre, for free.

It always says a day later then it delivers. I don't know why that is. I hate Smartpost but it seems to always come on time. I do know that depends on the post office though some have to wait till someone is there to break open the pallets. Smaller post offices take longer.
