It is a problem of eliminating unwanted input that occurs in many aspects of electronics. Sawmills processing wood, must eliminate sawdust and other debris that pass the photocells when counting boards into a bin for example or they would end up with short loads. Early computer keyboards had to be software debounced because the contacts would connect and disconnect numerous times for each keypress. The infamous TRS-80 Model one comes to mind. And Radio Shack had only one poor contract programmer working on the entire project IIRC. Bill Gates finished the job but poor Randy had to deal with keyboard debouncing and making a working OS long before there were all the shiny tools and libraries programmers have today. 8080 assembly language and write your own assembler was how it was done. Or connect wires to the processors pins and power them on and off till you figured out what was happening, by lighting up leds. Strangely enough they got things out and working for the most part in a pretty timely manner. Hats off to the early programmers Helen

[QUOTE=vugtitan;2586786 and also in library the sliders have gone and you have to swipe or go to page number? [/QUOTE] Problem is going to page number is meaningless to title or author that you are looking for. Go to first letter of what your looking for would be better. Scrolling through library should show letters of first part of author or title depending on how library is sorted would be more useful than page numbers. Hopeful they have not broken search for Author or Title yet! |

I have never looked through a dictionary or card catalog index of books looking at page numbers so I could find a word, book title or author. I remember real paper dictionary and how I would fan through pages looking at words at top of page indicating first word definition on left page and last word definition on right page. I can not believe implementing something obvious like this when scrolling through kobo reader book listing with slider bar could be a valid patent or any valid reason not to have this other than stupidity. Has anyone received this via sync or Kobo Desktop for the Mini yet? My Aura finally downloaded it a few days ago but I did a factory reset on my Mini on Sunday and set it up through Desktop and it only went to 2.6.1.

Yes, the Mini still has the sliders on 2.8.1. To be honest, I am not sure what changes it made. There's probably no need to upgrade it. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

is this true and in what way. they said it is smoother code and more streamlined. but all i care for is that it is faster and snappier as i have 10000 books on it after i upgraded the internal sd card from 2gig to 16 gig. i was going to it fairly soon.
