What I'd like to know is if this is indeed a bug common to Kobos? I returned my first Aura HD because of glo light flicker, frequent freeze-ups and double page turns, including some instances where it happened every three pages like clockwork! I assumed buggy hardware and figured best to get another unit. The next Aura HD I got (flawed screen) had the double page turns, just not anywhere near as often as the first one. But there was no way I wanted to live with the big central pinhole in the glo layer. Now I have unit THREE, with a flawless screen, it has the 2.8.1 firmware after setting it up, and I not only get the double page turns fairly frequently, I've gotten TRIPLE PAGE TURNS! Clearly, the issue is not fixed here, I'm going to try a factory reset, see if that helps. But before I return yet another Aura, I'd really like to know if the double-page turn bug is on all of them. My eyes love this screen and the screen size, but the reading experience with those extra page turns happening so frequently is not so hot! It really sucks, I've been trying to get a passable unit since ordering 2 days after they announced the reader, and here we are, three months later and still issues.

I have had several of these 3-4 pages instant turn. Glad I'm not alone, but it's really annoying.

Trust me; I've had them on both Touch and Glo, and have reported them many times to Kobo in the beta group. Like others say it varies totally in occurrence; some days I can go whole chapters with no occurrences, other days, every 3 or 4 turns. What I have started doing now is if I tap and see no page turn, I tap the other side of the screen. This normally leaves me on the page I was on, and then it's just a single tap on the first side to move forward. |

The first unit I got, I was convinced it was just the unit, because I was not seeing anyone else post about the issue on their Auras and so I thought it was just *my* unit, since it also had other issues! I NEVER went days without seeing the double page turns, the occurances varied between every 3 to 50 pages. (Yes, I started counting after a while!) I don't think I ever went more than 50 pages without it happening, so I am talking a minimum of an hourly occurence while reading, but much of the time it was considerably more often than that, like every 8-10 pages. Which at my normal reading speed means 6-10 times an hour. I've got the new replacement #3 Aura on the charger and I'm going to see if a factory reset helps any. The triple and quadruple turns I've experienced several times now are seriously disconcerting, it just totally throws me when it happens, because I don't know whether it is two pages or three or four that I have to go back to resume reading! Anyway, I SO appreciate your taking time to post, because I have to decide really quickly whether to keep this unit or try my very bad Aura HD luck yet again. I'm hoping a factory reset helps, because I'm real sick of dealing with Kobo CS on returns/exchanges.

Here's a thread where I had raised this bug a few months back. Curious: Do others get this bug

I'm very surprised that this is considered a general bug. I never had problems with double page turns on the glo nor the aura, though I had many in the early software versions of the sony prst-t1.

I used to get some on an old firmware on my Kobo Touch, but really haven't seen this bug on the Glo. The occasional double page turn I do see is when I know I fumble-fingered the screen press!

I certainly have double and the occasional triple page turn on my Glo. They happen relatively infrequently for me - probably only every 10 to 20 pages. Maybe I'm just used to it now but it doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as the problem from about a year ago with my Touch. From memory that problem was eventually fixed with a firmware update. |

I have a Touch, Mini, and an Aura. I don't experience double page turns on any of them except for, as meeera says, fumble-fingered screen presses.

It is the firmware, not the device. I mostly don't have this issue (on the glo), although with some of the previous firmwares, I would get double page turns. But with 2.8.1, I have the 4 or so pages at once issue. Annoying, but likely to be fixed through firmware (and possibly broken in the next firmware again ) and very unlikely to be hardware related. How are you turning pages, with a tap or swipe?

Sometimes it is caused by eating crackers in bed I think. A couple of cracker crumbs in the wrong place make it dance back and forth at times Helen

I tap. No double page turns for me since I installed FW 2.8.1, although two or three times I have experienced a triple page turn. Far, far fewer instances than I used to experience the double page turns, though. That used to happen every 8-10 pages and was very annoying.
