Thank you very much for all the comments about 2.31. I came here for other purposes today but given the large number of negative comments about 2.31 I'll won't even think about upgrading.

I tried to update to 2.3.1 but the sync process kept freezing. Now I am glad that it did not work, given all the problems with the new firmware.
