				Cheap eReader solution

It took more than two months to arrive, but it came, it saw and it conquered. I'm talking about Android-on-a-stick. It is a little larger than a USB memory stick. It comes with an HDMI connector that you attach to your TV, a Micro USB connector for power and a regular USB for a mouse, well perhaps a hub and a few other things outside a mouse. It has WiFI and BT, 8GBof memory. Your insert it in a HDMI port, turn on the TV and switch to HDMI output. You have a basic ICS screen. Then all you do is go to Google Play and download your preferred eReader apps. Smallest font is not recommended. Total price? Less than $50. |

And you have to read on the tv screen? No, thanks.

Android on a stick the price is up a bit, perhaps due to currency fluctuations, or perhaps there was a Campaign when I bought it. As I said, it was rwo months ago.

Hmmm, add a small wall mount tv and you've got that e-reader in the bathroom that you wanted. For operation on a large screen, maybe you should pair it up with a Ion Wireless Air Mouse Glove.* It could almost be like using a touch screen. * Note: Not for use in the bathroom ereader project! |

I think this is just meant as a media player device. You plug it into your computer and copy video files to it. Then you can plug it into your TV and it will show up just like my WD TV Media Player. Just because it says "Android" doesn't mean you can install apps on it. It lists a slew of different video formats, but doesn't say anything about epub, text, doc, rtf, etc.

As for portability, it is the only "eReader" I know that you can throw in a pocket and not worry about it breaking, but yeah, it comes without a screen. | |
