Well, I actually took a course here on the Coast for just what to do, but I really don't have the need or space to raise meat chickens here.

I grew up raising chickens and rabbits for meat, plus every morning looking for eggs. I hated when it was time to kill the chickens and pluck them for the pot.

Finishing up the last of the morning coffee and peeking in to watch CNN reports on the East Coast's Hurricane Sandy.

Yup. Why I choose to only keep layers. In our case, all ISA Browns.

I've switched to Diet Coke for the rest of this afternoon. If I drink any more tea, I'll be too wired.

Pu-erh cup number three. Yummy. We lost power for a few minutes a couple of hours ago but so far so good since them. Feeding Lucas then nuke some chile. Turned up the cool factor in the freezers. Thinking of doing the same on the beer fridge.

No work tomorrow but I was able to go back for three hours this afternoon. The dogs are not thrilled with the weather, it is bad for potty breaks. Cooper is going to be scared tonight so we are going to end up with dogs on the bed. The power is probably going to go out so Lucas is going to sleep with Mommy so he stays warm. I sense napping on Tuesday.

Cranberry juice mixed with water. After a nice break this weekend I'm back to working on my thesis - it's getting harder and harder to work the closer I am to the end. Methinks I'm going to cut more out of it.

Good morning, all! My bags are packed and sitting by the front door. Bike is full of gas, GPS navigator programed with my routes, and I'm just finishing breakfast then I'm gone! I've got a big mug of Ahmad's "English Breakfast" tea, a bowl of rice and crab, and some miso soup. Road food... I'm bringing a thermos of hot 'Yorkshire' tea, as it's raining and cold today. Gonna be a wet ride. This trip I've remembered to bring a big bag of tea with me!
