Thanks to some cool people at this Forum, depending on where you live, you can download ebooks from your online library. Free is a great price for books if you're an avid reader. Cheers |

The Kindle will not read Library eBooks without removing the DRM or diddling with the DRM.

Of course, if flybywire lives near a Borders or a SonyStyle, then it is entirely possible to get a PRS-505 before the trip on Sunday and to go play here in the E-Books section of the forum to download content to load up and read whil on the trip. And if you want an AC adapter for the 505, then just get a PSP type (with the barrel plug) that will work where you need it to work.

Call before trying to buy a Sony at Borders. The Borders local to me doesn't carry them. I stopped in at another not in my area and asked to see one, they didn't carry them either.

Even call SonyStyle if you have one. Just to be sure there is a 505 in stock and if so, have them hold it for you.

I am a 747 Captain for a major US airline. My trips now are just to the Orient--alot of guys are buying the Ebook readers...so far I haven't run into anyone with a Kindle...they mostly have the Sony.

If you're flying out of LAX, I'd be happy you show off my Kindle. Or as has been suggested, order a Kindle and try it for 30 days. | |

I am so very impressed with all of the people here in this forum. Due to the wonderful response here I have placed the Kindle in my shopping cart but haven't pulled the lever yet. I am looking around the web at information for a possible Kindle 2 version...thinking the second gerneration will have alot of kinks worked out. |
