"Hmm. I'm on Calibre 8.20, enabled sharing of book contet in Calibre preferences, tried converting mobi to mobi, epub to mob, now finding my Kindle doesn't even ask me if I want to tweet/share with these files.
It will ask me if I want to share the files converted under 8.19 and lower, although it reports the content does not support sharing. Anyone else experienced this? Thx " OK, clarification. I can share highlights (as personal documents not including title & author), but it won't ask me if want to share I have finished a book. Last edited by drimpossible; 09-24-2011 at 03:47 PM. Sorry I am unclear on the current state of this issue. I have just started getting the "sharing not supported" message on books imported via calibre. Is this something that can be "fixed" via preferences? I have no need to sync between multiple devices however I do have a need to be able to share (push to a twitter account).
Is rolling back to a previous version the only solution? Any idea which version I need to go to in order to achieve this, any idea where I can find this version? Thanks so much, D.K. |

In the current version (0.8.34) you need to tick the box to 'Enable sharing of book content via Facebook, etc.'. You can find it in Preferences > Output Options > Mobi Output.

Thank you very much for your fast and accurate reply. It seems a strange option to bury in the system like that.
Thanks again, DK |

Hi.
First off, I really like Calibre. On to the issue at hand: I've disabled the syncing to be able to publish to Facebook when I'm done reading a book, like instructed in this thread. But when I try to share, I get told that the material does not support sharing. I wish not to publish anything other than that I've finished the book, and the rating I give it. |

Sorry if I resume the thread, but does anybody know how to get the title and the author of the book instead of "Personal document" when you share a highlight?
Thank you very much. |
