You could do a factory reset. Easier would be just to revert to 1.19.14 using the following instructions.

Other option would be just to wait until the next firmware is released which should fix the issues.

Double Tap Issue
Concerning the double tap issue it seem to me that it is somehow related to the book I'm reading. In certain books which only have text in it the double tap issue is not present. If I'm reading a book with lot of graphics or with more chapters (seperate html files in the epub) it seems the issue happens more often.

Can anyone else confirm this?

The more I use 1.9.16, the more tempted I am to do this. Unfortunately, all versions of 1.9.14 (including the one referenced above, as well as the user-uploaded copy to rapidshare) seem to be gone now. If anyone *does* have a copy somewhere, a link would be great!

Yeah, I'd prefer to do this, really, but no idea what the ETA is. Any beta-testers out there that can provide any insight as to fixes and timeline? Hmm, actually, what is the process these days to get in to the beta testing group?

Could you PM me too? I'm still having the double tap, which I first reported after the update, and it is driving me BATTY. I was away for the holidays but now that I'm back and there is still no update from Kobo to fix this I would like to just revert back!

Thankfully the kobo I got my mom for christmas didn't seem affected by the double tap. I would have been mortified to give her a frustrating product right for the first setup.

I totally disagree. Anytime a device gets product information and displays it, with or without prices, that is ADVERTISING. Pure and simple. And without my permission! Something like that should be purely opt-in, if included at all, but on this particular device, where 2 versions are sold, one with ads and one without, it should NOT EVEN BE THERE at all!

Embed a font. Put the font-family line to activate it in the body CSS style and if it displays, it's fixed. If not, it's broken still. This is where you'll find most eBooks hat have embedded fonts put the font-family to activate the main font.

The font that's embedded. I don't recall which font was used. Open the ePub and have a look at the fonts.

Its Gentium, and no, it doesn't show, I see the font I have set on the device (which I prefer but I understand that for some languages it might be crucial to embed a font that has all characters needed...)
