![]() All you have to do is look at the very first post... as for how to install it, if you are using the latest version of Calibre you can install it using "Get new plugins" from the Preferences menu or Preferences->Plugins Darn it - Nyn beat me

OK I downloaded the zip file and tried adding it to plugins both with the zip file and the extracted file, neither worked. Does this apply in linux?

Yep this works in Linux - Ubuntu 11.04 is my main development platform and sometimes I even remember to test in Windows

![]() Have you restarted Calibre? Don't extract the zip file! Try following the steps in the first post under the Install section, and then let us know what isn't working - with details to help pinpoint your issue. Oh - and I recommend the latest calibre as well for the great built-in plugin management facilities. I'll have to update the first post to mention that. Oh, and I only see 27 pages of posts, but they're really long pages

Come to think of it, since the plugin requires 0.8.6 to install, I think I'll update the plugin install instructions to just use Calibre to install - no point in dealing with a download of the zip file.

Then I can remove the zip file from the front page to avoid confusion. only kidding kiwidude

Great to hear. Calibre gets updated frequently so its best to install it right from the calibre site.

First post updated to use the built-in plugin updater for installation. |

Sorting on Kindle in series order

I love the Collections Manager GUI for the Kindle through Calibre. It's made organizing my eBooks a hell of a lot easier.

One question though -- is there a way through Calibre and/or the Collections Manager that I can have it sort on the Kindle by the series order rather than alphabetical? There are times when it's difficult to know which book comes where in a series. Thanks in advance! |

Create Collections on your Kindle automatically using Calibre data Click the SHOW button under customization to get more ideas. Through customization, I now have all of my series set up in the following manner: Home page shows: Cotton Malone - Berry, Steve (6) When you click on the series, this is how the plug-in organizes my books: 01 - The Templar Legacy 02 - The Alexandria Link 03 - The Venetian Betrayal I wanted the series represented this way also, so I didn't have to continously search for the next book in the series. Makes it so much easier. Good Luck! Last edited by chilady1; 06-21-2011 at 03:50 PM. |

@pfloyd - the key issue is that the Kindle only sorts alphabetically - such as Titles, Authors - or by Most Recent access dates. What you probably want to do is to use Calibre settings to modify the Title to include the Series number in the Title and then when the titles are sorted alphabetically the series will be in order. As chilady1 pointed out, there is a tip about this in the first post - try the Calibre Tips section.

Okay, the plugboards worked out, good good.

Now I have to think about editing down the series names, as a few of them are a bit on the long side... |

Al the plugins should ideally be installed (and updated) via the Plugin Updater which is now part of the core Calibre release.

EDIT: Seem to have got this reply disconnected from the post I thought I was replying to. |

I created an extra column called Series Nic with a shortened version of the series for the plugboard. That way I don't have to sacrifice the whole series name.

I'm having a problem. While I probably will remove a lot of books from my Kindle I want to better organize some of them and so I tried using the Kindle Collections plug in to edit which collection some of my books are in and when I click on Edit manually first the program goes non responsive and then I get an error. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
