So glad you both escaped physical harm. The emotional and psychic damage will take some time, but I know you both will make it! Take care, Donn

I want to thank everybody, both personally and for MobileRead, for the tremendous outpouring of support shown to DixieGal & Tim - support in all forms .... emotional, financial, spiritual ... whatever was needed, and whatever each member could provide. You guys & gals have shown yourself, if I may use a cliche, a true family - able to come together when one of our members is facing disaster in its rawest form. And I know all of us will continue to follow DixieGal & Tim's recovery and return to some semblance of normal life again. Rebuilding shattered buildings will take some time; rebuilding shattered lives will take a little longer - but they won't be alone. |

I came to this thread late, and so did not have to endure what amounts to the narrative suspense. Went right to the relief at DG's survival. A block that my brother lived in with his family in Tuscaloosa years ago was demolished - except for his former house. And then I read about DG... I have a nephew at U of Alabama, just graduating, and bizarrely, the last time he graduated (from high school) he got hit by a tornado. No deaths around him, thankfully. How horrible that all of DG's neighbors died. That just has to be numbing, whether you show it or not. |

I wondered about that, but reading over at Smashwords *seems* to say that there is no cost to the author; that all the $ goes to them. True? False?

It somehow appeared to me that it then does not merely seem to be a sympathy donation. Cheers

Done. We've been looking at the pictures ... it doesn't really hit you, down in the gut, until it happens to someone you know. Hang in there, Dix & Tim.

That was highly unnecessary. Attachment 70966 What Dreams said. You guys gave us almost $1,000, but today Alfa Ins gave us a cash advance for living expenses. It would make us happy if you would continue to contribute to the Concord community of Hueytown, Alabama via the Red Cross. I don't know how we can ever thank you all for the love and filthy lucre over the past week. But we do thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. (Keep getting Tim's book. He is so cute! That makes him so happy when the email shows another one sold. He thinks that is going to be "his" money! __________________ Click to get my husband's book Nohmi Last edited by nohmi2; 07-28-2011 at 05:36 AM.

For every $7.99, he gets to keep $6.34. I think that is among the highest rate. If you get it at Amazon, he only gets about $3.00.
