oh I totally have a cats mouth! I think I may have rather severely burned my tongue when I was young. I can, however, handle extremely hot things with my hands

here in the US. I figured that there would be so many elegant wonderful types of tea that going for crummy US tea would not be necessary.

well, then. my first comment and questions about tea (specifically, Lipton strawberry flavored tea): it's naturally bitter, isn't it? or that's because I put 2 bags in 150ml? I had to add 3 spoons of sugar to make it a little sweeter (I like anything sweet). the scent is okay to me.

LOL! The Lipton's that is sold 'outside' the US is not the same Lipton's that is sold inside the US. Not even close.

Liptons can be found all over the world! But what is sold is Lipton's "Yellow Label Tea," which is VERY different from their regular line. Much better. Unfortunately for USAians, I've never seen this sold in the US. It's actually drinkable. Not great, but drinkable. It's perhaps the most common black tea served in restaurants and hotels in Asia.

Yes, I went looking tonight. You can't get Lipton's Red Fruit infusions in the US . But they do have a lot of the pyramid bag types listed on the site for the US that I can't find in the stores.

In my cup: Citron Green from Adagio. I think this one I'd need to be in the mood for. It's very refreshing, with a lot of "peel" taste. This one would probably actually be better as iced tea - it's a great thirst quencher because of the tartness.

Afternoon now, and time for an afternoon tea....

I've been thinking about it since I mentioned it this morning; some 'Brook Bond' Ceylon tea. I like the color of Ceylon tea. It's what I imagine tea should look like.

you're right, I did a search and saw that they sell different kinds of tea in each region not sure because why (maybe it depends on the ingredient in that region?)

I'm having Dilmah Ceylon black tea - peach flavored.

My mom and 2 sisters have 'cat's mouth' as well, my father and my brother have to wait half an hour before they can start drinking their tea.

I am finding out that I prefer to use much less steeping time than what it is recommended (and maybe a little more tea, that helps). Like the prof. said 3 minutes for Blacks and Oolong. I get better results (for my taste) with just 1 minute or a little more. In this way I think that I get a clearer perception of the flavors that are invariably deep and subtle.

What you just wrote about Assam is motivating me to reconsider it. I might find a way to brew it that makes it appealing per se, without milk and/or sugar.

huh. I cannot drink my tea hot I have to pour less water, then add some ice cubes to make it cooler, or wait half an hour

I can't stand the pain or something intolerable - that makes me not the type who can deliver baby, right??

Little daughter (3y10m) (she sleeps between me and her mother with whom she is in love at the moment) just learned to program my alarm clock. Yesterday I woke up at 3.20 when wife rolled over me to stop the d... contraption.

When I make a cup of tea she wants some rojboos for herself. I put plenty of ice cubes to cool it down. We keep her away from caffeine and sugar. She starts to enjoy infusions. It is more the scene of having a cup and imitating us. Her preferred comfort drink is still warm milk in the baby feeder. She has it at least 3 times a day.

I saw my older sister delivering her first daughter, the doctor gave her an injection right into the spinal cord and I must admit that that scene is a nightmare.
