hey. I'm in my 40's pretty sure he didn't think I could do it all on my own. Me being a geriatric feeb and all. Course being that I probably own more domains than he visits in any given day and have been coding since the days of Apple II Assembler, i think i might be able to handle rooting a tablet.

Just in case some may not know about this, if you go into your profile settings and along the left hand side, Look under 'Settings and Options', you will see 'Edit Ignored Users'.

After being reprimanded by the moderators, I've drawn a conclusion: That fact that something is truthful doesn't make it acceptable. |

The sad thing here Scion, is that you wern't even rude to the guy, you just asked him to stay on topic and be helpful. There are always some who want to get their 'Post Count' up by typing in less than usefull information.

I appreciate the public support. Be careful though, it may be reported.

If I were in the wrong in this, I'm sure I would have been reprimanded too. She knows how to use the report button....believe me. She also knows how to play the victim for all it's worth. Back to the books.

I also botched a root job on my first NC and re-applied the root and it worked. Then I realized yesterday (thanks to these forums) that I was one of the "lucky" ones that got a NC with the sound issues after it goes to sleep. I reset my nook back to "factory setting" and luckily they didn't look too closely when they took it back. Here are some things that didn't go away when I reset my NC back to factory: Superuser app NookColor Tools GMail marketplace calculator Keyboard stayed modified from the original NC keyboard I think that's it. The salesperson noticed the keyboard and luckily still helped me out. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this and if they have how they fixed it. Sorry if there is a better place for this post....it's my first time posting in these forums

Yes....I used the "power button + volume button + N button" method of resetting followed by an "Erase and unregister" , but those things still remained.

In fact, when I took it back the Nook rep at B&N called tech support and they had him reset it and he couldn't get it to work because he didn't know how (he wasn't holding all three buttons). I didn't know about the 8-count reboot method that SCION mentioned earlier in the thread. I'm wondering now if that would have cleared everything off. I'm assuming it would since it "re-images" the /system partition. I was hesitant to root my replacement because of this, but this puts my mind at ease a little more
