Hi, I'm a new member from southeast Florida, in Palm Beach County specifically. I have 2 e readers, a Kindle 2 and a Sony pocket reader (#300) which I use for library books.

Speaking of library books, I work in a city library that does not offer ebooks, and our nearby (really nearby) county library does. I mostly use their selection, although I also have an ecard at the Alachua County library system, which is ok for anyone with a Florida address.

Anyway, the local Barnes and Noble sends people to "the library" to get the free books, and I'm the only one on staff who understands what you have to do to get these library books. I feel bad for the people who come all the way to our library to be redirected to the county branch. Bless their hearts, some of them aren't so comfortable with computers to install the extra software needed. Oh, and I don't know if B&N is telling them that the library has everything they own in DTBs as a lend-able e book too, or if they are making that leap themselves. I get to break that truth to them too.

I look forward to participating in these discussions.

People do need to be aware that all library's do not carry a large selection of ebooks......and some don't carry any at all.

Hi Ellen and welcome to MobileRead. I was in Brazil last January and borrowed a book from the Fairfax library. Got it and moved it onto my eBook Reader and 20 minutes later the blue Atlantic surf was creaming around skinny, white cassidym ankles. Cool
