Post Sunny With a Chance of Homicide

I've just published my debut novel, looking to get it out there.

Waking up in solitary confinement is never fun for anyone, and the movies in Randall’s mind make it even worse. He relives crucial moments from his past until he finds himself out on his own, free. He finds new love, but as always an old flame complicates things. Love, lust, anger, guilt, and the search for redemption turn Randall’s world upside down. Randall is just like any other guy, with a boring office job. Or so he thinks. Until his reality and fantasy worlds collide to put him in a very compromising position.

It is available for purchase for $5.00

http://www.amazon.com/Sunny-Chance-H...4786343&sr=8-1

And my personal website is:

Short blurb for Rubies and Other Gems – the Novel

Lily’s life isn’t going well. Her husband is clueless, her children are rudderless, and she’s had a trying day in traffic. It's little wonder she seeks comfort in her dreams, unaware that her grandmother’s rubies have transported her back through time to a safer, saner existence.

When she learns that her dream lover is not a dream after all, but a real man who lived and died years before she was born, she fears her marriage won’t survive her unintentional infidelity. But she and her husband work at repairing it and are nearly back on track when she accidentally sends herself back in time without her return ticket, the rubies.

Thanks for reading and I hope you’ll take a look.

To celebrate the 1 year anniversary of my debut US hardback, I've convinced the publisher finally slash the price from 10 bucks down to 2.99 - even before the paperback's release in the summer. Silver's had some amazing reviews, been picked up by the guys behind Alien Ant Farm and other great bands for audio adaptation by cast from the WIRE and other tv shows...

So... what's it all about?

Sometimes the truth is anything but honest.

Sometimes the stories everyone knows by heart are lies.

Sometimes lies are all we have left.

Two thousand years ago, thirty silver Tyrian shekels were paid to secure the most infamous betrayal of all time. Melted down by the grandsons of Judas Iscariot, in the dark heart of the Sicarii fortress, Masada, the silver was re-forged as a dagger. When the Sicarii zealots committed mass suicide in AD73 the dagger of Iscariot and the truth of his sacrifice were lost. Until now.

A religious cult calling itself the Disciples of Judas has risen in the Middle East. Its influence is pernicious, its reach long. In thirteen cities across Europe thirteen people martyr themselves in the name of Judas, promising forty days and forty nights of terror. They twist the words of ancient prophecies to drive home the fear. Everything you believe in will be proved wrong. Everything you hold true will fail.

Day by day the West wakes to increasingly harrowing acts of terror. As fear cripples the capitals of Europe, who will be the next to fall? London? Rome? Berlin?

In a race against time - and prophecy - believing the terrorists intend to assassinate the Pope as part of their plan to bring down the Catholic Church, Sir Charles Wyndham's team of combat specialists, codename Ogmios, tracks a labyrinthine course through truth, shades of truth and outright lies that takes them from the backstreets of London to the shadow of Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin and all the way into the heart of the Holy See itself.

Forty days and forty nights of fear. And today is day one.

"The mix of history, suspense, and action in Silver is a perfect combination for those DaVinci Code fans looking for another electrifying read combining Biblical history with modern-day Armageddon."
-- Douglas Preston, NYT Bestselling author of IMPACT and BLASPHEMY

"Fascinating, gripping, horrific, tragic and compelling."
-- Steve Alten, NYT Bestselling author of MEG and THE SHELL GAME

"SILVER is a wild combination of Indiana Jones, The Da Vinci Code, and The Omen."
-- Kevin J Anderson, international bestselling author of THE SAGA OF SEVEN SUNS and co-author of PAUL OF DUNE

"Move over Dan Brown!"
-- Stel Pavlou, international bestselling author of DECIPHER and GENE

My favourite review however was one that described it as the best assassination novel since Day of the Jackal...

Lovely comment made my day

Just had a lovely comment on my book.

RE: But Can You Drink The Water? 'Droll, witty and utterly British'
I've just finished reading it, and loved it. I found myself thinking about the characters even when I wasn't reading the book, didn't want the story to end, and was really rooting for them to make a massive success of the move.

10/10 from me!

Makes it all worthwhile when you know someone has enjoyed what you sweated blood and tears to write.

It went as high as #163 on Kindle paid on Amazon UK and was #2 in fiction- humour (don't think I'll be able to oust The Complete Works of Oscar Wilde at #1)

Serendipity House

Demoralized by her mother and fiancé, Sylvie heads for the hills on the day she’s to wed. Coming across a quaint country inn with an intriguing name, she impulsively checks into Serendipity House where she finds the support and genuine affection she’s always longed for. She even accepts the job of managing it.

When Alex arrives, she immediately becomes suspicious. Why would an attractive and distinguished man want to vacation at an inn that’s clearly seen better days? Determined to avoid him, she, nonetheless, finds herself falling in love with him.

Then she learns that Alex didn’t just happen upon the inn, that he’s actually a streetwise PI sent by her jilted fiancé to bring her home. Making matters worse, he’s also bought the inn and is now her boss.

Thanks for reading and I hope you’ll take a look. To read the first two chapters, please visit my website joycedebacco.com.

Below is some info on my epic fantasy series, Harbinger of Doom. BTW - Book 1, The Gateway, won 3rd Best Fantasy Novel of 2009 in the Preditors & Editors Readers Poll. Book 1 is on sale for .99 cents on Amazon kindle

Summary of Reader Reviews:

“...as good as any fantasy tale you will read, it honors the tradition, and adds to our lore a story so good, so well told, I hope it will be remembered forever.” --- Rai Aren, co-author of Secret of the Sands

“...fast paced and exciting with characters real enough to leap out of the pages...leaves the reader craving more.” --- Franz McLaren, author of Demon Drift and A Night of Dark Delicacies

“...Non-stop action that is written so well you can't stop reading it!” -- G.A. Endless, author of Issla: A Vampire Living in the 21st Century

“...The author paints each scene and battle so clearly that I felt I was in the middle of the action.” --- Mike Monahan, author of Barracuda.

“...The Gateway delivers straight up heroic fantasy with unapologetic hack and slash action.” -- Tracy Falbe, author of The Rys Chronicles

“...fast-paced, action-packed fantasy.” --- Debra Purdy Kong, author of Taxed to Death and Fatal Encryption

“...An adventure into magic and fantasy that pulls you in and does not let go...left me wanting more.”
--- R.M. Putnam, author of Destiny’s Warriors

“...the action never stops.” --- Susan McLeod, author of Soul and Shadow

Thater tells this tale “...in a voice as pretentious as Tolkein’s.” -- Dennis Batchelder, author of Soul Identity and Soul Intent.

“...an excellent foray into dark story adventure.” -- Jacamo Peterson, author of A Hard Place: A Sergeant's Tale, and Blademaster of Norda.

THE HARBINGER OF DOOM SAGA

The Harbinger of Doom saga centers around one Lord Angle Theta, an enigmatic warrior of unknown origins and mystical power. No mortal man is his match in battle. No sorcery can contain or confound him. No scholar or sage can outwit him. But for all his skills, he is but one of us; a man, a human, who shares our faults, our dreams, and our ambitions. He boldly strides across the land, fearless, peerless, and cloaked in mystery; all his will bent on righting such wrongs as he deems fit.
Until the day the Gateway opened and turned the world on its head. On that fateful day, Korrgonn came and washed away our dreams. And his outre' realms of chaos set their unholy mark upon our world and claimed it for their own.

Only Theta and his companions see the enemies aligning against us. Only they foresee our end coming -- the end of civilization, the end of the world of man. Only they can hope to turn the tide of madness and preserve all that we hold dear.

But no man, not even our greatest hero, can stand against the Lords of Chaos and the dark armies of Nifleheim at their command. Fiends that infiltrate unseen within our ranks, that tear down our temples and our traditions; that devour us from within, unseen, unknown, unheralded, and unopposed until the hour grows far too late.

Through the murk and mist that hangs before our eyes, one man only sees true. One man pierces the veil of magic that blinds us all and marks the world as it truly is, revealing secrets, secrets of Angle Theta, so horrifying as to shatter a man's mind and call into question the very nature of good and evil.
Join us now on our journey back to the days of high adventure.

The Kinshield Legacy received two more 5-star reviews in the last couple of days, bringing the total to 14/20!

I have 42,720 words written in the sequel so far, for those who are curious. I hope to hit 50,000 by the end of the weekend! Let's see if I can do it...

Let me blow a trumpet for the latest book I've published

The Treasure Hunter of Santiago

Napolean's armies are on the move over Spain and Portugal, looting and pillaging, but because of an unexpected forced retreat, the treasure must be cast aside to lighten the load..... or perhaps it can be buried, to be retrieved later, when the fortunes of war turn again?

The men who buried it are now dead, but one of them passed on the location of the treasure to a companion.... and the French armies never returned.

This is the story of the man who brought such a tale to a Spanish Government in desperate need of money, and obtained the support of the Minister of Finance for an expedition to retrieve the fortune buried by Napolean's retreating armies.

It examines carefully the origins of the treasure, and whether it's possible that, if it ever existed, it's still there.... waiting for someone to find it.

A fascinating tale of 19th Century Spain and Portugal, with an intriguing explanation for why the treasure hasn't been discovered.... yet.

Available in Hardback (£20), Paperback (£10), and as a special introductory offer, as a well-formatted, DRM-free, Kindle ebook for just $0.99/£0.74

For Kindle at Amazon UK: £0.74
For Kindle at Amazon US: $0.99

That's only about 7% of the cost of the paperback!
