It works but the mouse pointer is a little bit stumbling. It's not so easy to aim for menus or buttons or ... maybe with a little bit exercise it will be easy. It works fine if you use terminals, shells ... though. |

I mean "Android Application" is Android RDP Client. for iPad with Apple pencil, "Duet Display" enables subdisplay with pressure sensitivity. |

That looks like an ad-hoc closed product, not like a standard technology. Now, for what VNC is concerned, Iordan replied that "sending pressure information" is not part of the standard (and I duly checked as by him invited). So, the correct way, I would say, to fix the matter, is to have the standard extended. Otherwise, to make a hack, it is probably not extremely difficult to modify a server and a client to support that. But it would be an incorrect process. |

but as an answer, the actual request was at thread "Python on Onyx" https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=290371 Could you please move your findings in the correct thread? This is "Monitor". Or, maybe you can create a new thread, such as "Programming on Onyx devices", and your findings already cover premises for more than just Python. |

BTW, I've tried to get a Galaxy S8 to display to a Max 2 without much luck. The attempt used a USB Type C dock with an HDMI port, but all I saw in the Monitor app was a black

			Hi,

I was able to make the max2 work as a second monitor with the hdmi port. Trouble is that it does not work with all laptop/os. The max2 and hdmi cables are not to blame at first as it works with one laptop/windows10. But I could not make it work with another laptop/debian or with an android tablet (note pro 12.2). Max2 just says that I should check the hdmi cable. I tested my laptop/debian and android tablet with another screen, it works perfect. So the only reason for them to not work with the max2 is that there is a misunderstanding between both, like my laptop or tablet tries to display a resolution the max2 is refusing. Did you experience such troubles ? Thanks in advance for your help. Regards |

which is a kind of graphic card you can plug on usb port. It works well with a standard screen, but not with max2. I do not use any gui to switch, just "xrandr" on the command line. xrandr does recognize the usb to hdmi converter, but default modelines may not fit the max2. Any hints welcome. |

Just done (earlier I was not in, of course)

`xrandr` returns Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 2104 x 1560, maximum 32767 x 32767 [...] Your-main-monitor connected [...] [...] HDMI-0 connected 2104x1560+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 2104mm x 1560mm 2104x1560 32.98*+ and with --verbose you also get 2104x1560 (0x1f8) 125.000MHz -HSync +VSync *current +preferred h: width 2104 start 2244 end 2284 total 2384 skew 0 clock 52.43KHz v: height 1560 start 1565 end 1570 total 1590 clock 32.98Hz BTW: I see that it got a wrong resolution, but I know I imposed the correct one in other tests. Please note that as you plug in the monitor, it is "disabled". You have to connect it to the "X Screen 0" - whatever the position and scaling of the two monitors, entailing "cloned" or "extended" etc. ? The Onyx Monitor application uses only A2. And since, as you know, dots swarm, I do not recommend this implementation. Have you tried VNC? Last edited by mdp; 01-12-2018 at 03:19 PM. |
