For anyone interested I can confirm that the latest Google Play update of Mantano Premium, v2.2.1 does have the 2 options to switch off page-curl and to disable the pseudo-pages down the right.

Me, too! How wonderful in this day and age to have a company as responsive as Mantano!

Still the best reader by far imho.

Just googled. There are a few Android apps around. No idea what they are like though.

I don't have access to my computer with calibre installed and won't for some time, so editing with calibre is not an option at this time, unfortunately. Thank you for the link, I will check it out!

2.2.1 is very nice! I actually have the page animation active now. I belive page flips when you tap the side has been speeded up, even with curls on! So you hardly notice the curl effect. And if you like you can change page with a slower swipe or even slower drag to show of the page curl.

The fake pages below is hidden. Thanks for that option!

Actually the fake pages at the side might be a small nice feature if it was a little more discrete and made dynamic and only shown on the first and the last page. It would then be shown to indicate that you are at one of the ends of the book.

Night mode

It used to be possible to edit both day and night modes of a theme.
Not anymore, nightmodes are not customisable anymore and are not simply the inverse of the day settings.
Bug or feature?
And why are there sometimes green arrows to go accompagnied by white lines on the edge of the screen, and then it is all gone?
No big deal, I'm happy ith Mantano a long as I never have to seen the 'pages' again, I hated that.

If you want a custom night mode, you could create it as a new theme, e.g. black background, amber text.

Another vote for an option to turn off the "book pages" background.

Also, there should be an option to turn off the obtrusive "bookmark ribbon", and/or an option to change its color to not clash to strongly with the background.

OK; got it (it's under "Reader" in Settings, btw).

Again, I'd like a similar option to remove the bookmark ribbon, or at least make it much less obtrusive (maybe giving it a color that is a slight variation of the page background color instead of the attention-demanding orange).

I don't mind the color. One thing I do like very much in these new updates is that I can actually press it once to turn it on instead of having to press all around it, go to the next page (since I didn't get it right), return and keep trying. Evidently the area around it has been enlarged - good job!

Just set up a brand new galaxy tab 2 10.1 for a friend. It has ICS loaded out of the box. Installed mantano lite and have exactly the same issue.

I sometimes get a little arrow in the lower right corner, to open navigation. But it disappear if I open for example the Info-window. Don't know if it is a bug or a feature...

I agree about the bookmark flag. Would be nice to have it invisible, but still the same functionality in the upper right corner.

Covers no longer show in Library view

Hi,

I have been using Mantano for about a year now and it has been a very pleasant experience. Lately, I'm not sure if it started with the latest Mantano update or the latest update on my tablet (Sony S) - Android 4.02 but in either case, whenever I load a new book, I get a blank cover in the library/bookshelf mode. The cover does show up however when I open the book.

Anybody else run into this problem - Anybody aware of a solution?

Now that I've disabled page curl and stack, I'm getting much better performance--faster page turns, font size adjustments, and brightness changes, as well as navigation (jumping chapters, or jumping between text and endnotes). Also, long-presses are more reliable and more responsive. The impact is probably more dramatic on my Nook Color than on many devices, both because it lacks power and because I'm using an unofficial Ice Cream Sandwich ROM that lacks hardware video acceleration.

Thank you. I think.

Unfortunately I can't seem to get it to work in 2.2.1 Premium. If the illustration is too large for the screen size the image is cropped. If it's too tall, only the top part of the image is displayed. If it's too wide the sides are cropped. This is in portrait mode.

I was expecting some way of resizing the image. Tapping on the image does bring up a smaller version, but this is cropped even more than the full-size image. It's equivalent to the image size when the menu is being displayed, but taking up only about a quarter of the screen.

Tap and hold and a magnifying glass is displayed, but you still can't move it outside the part of the image displayed on the screen.

Even worse, if you read in landscape mode the diagram covers the left-hand half of the text on the right side of the screen. So the text becomes unreadable.

The book I'm using to check this out is A History of the World in 100 Objects by Neil MacGregor, published by Allen Lane/Penguin. Using a Toshiba AT100 tablet, Android 3.1.

I can provide photos of the display using Mantano and using the Kobo Reader, which resizes the images so the fit the display, if this would be of any assistance.

A strange bug; sometimes I get a little black and white arrow right under and a white vertical line to the right.
The arrow leads to the TOC.
To get a normal clean screen I have to pretend to edit the themes, after that, arrow and line are gone.

Yes, I know, but I preferred the former situation; editing the colors of both day and night in combination with the default and sepia themes gave me 4 different usuable themes, which was just enough for me (in the sun, daylight, stealth and night); switching was very easy by using toggle day/night as a gesture. Now I have to add more themes and switching is not as easy, so I'm for restoring the old settings here.
Besides, it is not even posible to edit existing night modes right now, definitely a bug.
