Me too (for both sentences). Hope I'll not be disappointed as with the PB 903.

Google translate does a passable job of making it at least understandable.

There is some more test on that page, a PDF test for example
http://www.mobread.com/news/exclusive/20111882.html

I am not sure on exactly what they say about it, but it seems like they think it is good enough, they are trying with a very difficult PDF (500mb scanned pictures)

In this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnyT44GeNgk Onyx shows a prototype of the M90. But as you see in the end of the video it is with an 800 MHz processor. But they decided to put only 532 MHz processor into the M90.

I worry a bit that the M90 released soon will be slower to turn pages and open books than what we see in this video.

Is this a genuine concern or is the the 532 MHz processor enough?

Best regards,
broch

I hope so, there are many older readers (like the irex ones) that have lower end cpu but better performances, so I think that may be some sw issues.

Still waiting and hoping

Question

Looking at last third of this video the reader seems much less slow.

I think they did this on purpose. They used a faster processor on the model that was on the show so people would think it's fast, but on the retail models they would put the 532Mhz.

I think she's using the M91S and not the M90. Notice that she doesn't use ths stylus at all in the video.

seriously you do not know the answer to that first question off the top of your head? Why are you trying to sell ebook readers if you have zero clue about screens? Wow, just wow...

To answer the question. If it is indeed a Pearl sceeen in the M90 then yes it is the same type of screen as used in the current Sony and Kindle readers.

There was that so hard to answer? Fer gauds sakes why do so many of these resellers come here with out even having a half baked idea as to what the product they are pushing even can do or has. For all I know this guy is RobertB reborn, sure sounds like it could be from the waffling answers.

@Caleb666: The reason they put the 532 MHz processor in the retail model is that the 800 MHz one does not support the touch screen very well. That may also be the reason why the stylus is not used in the video.

The 800 MHz processor has advanced power management features; it goes to sleep whenever there is no activity. The advantage is long battery life. The disadvantage is the delay a user would experience when using the stylus. While waking up the processor does not register the stylus action.

@Zetmolm: Yeah, I know that. But in that CES video, they showcased a touch model with an 800Mhz CPU - a model that won't go to retail.

And the video above says M90 in its title, but the girl there doesn't use a stylus for navigation, so that in fact may be the M91S she was using - which might explain why it is so fast. But I guess we won't know this for sure until the 15th of May.

I hope that you are wrong, cause I would not buy it if was as slow as the model shown in the earlier videos.

We wont have the M90 in the States until probably the 24th or 25th. There will only be about 100 out of the first production run available here.

Nothing surprises me anymore with salesperson... Once I litteraly destroyed the argumentation of a Lenovo's salesman who knew a lot less than myself about the machine he was trying to sell to me. He had no clue about eSATA and never heard of UWB (in 2010).
Unfortunately, it seems that salespersons come more from finances and such than from sciences & technics.

For what concerns the hardware, I do worry more about the "only" 128 MB of RAM, compared to the 256 MB of PocketBook 90x. Available RAM also has a strong effect on the device's performance, especially with big files.
However, I do not know how far this will affect an e-reader. I am just thinking about computer in general.
