I think it is not so easy to find short and telling designations. "install update" installs anything that is in KoboRoot.tgz. Whether KSM will still work after this depends on what files were in KoboRoot.tgz. "install partial update" installs everything of KoboRoot.tgz with the exception of /etc/init.d/rcS, /usr/local/Kobo/udev/ac, plug, sd, and usb. It is also not easy to tell the user which update option to choose in a given situation. Only for original Kobo FW updates it is easy: take the first option if you want to get rid of KSM; the second if you want to keep it. |

Maybe:
Full update - maybe removes KSM Partial update - keeps KSM |

KoboLauncher and Cool reader version 2015.03 do not work under KSM 06. They do however work under KSM 07, which I will publish during this week.

I've got the solution. ![]() I put the command Code:
mount --bind /mnt/sd/.library /mnt/onboard/.library/sd (I've created an empty .library/sd folder first) Now when I open the Koreader, I see under the SD forlder the content of .library on my SD card. Question: Is there any better place to put it than kobomenu.sh? Maybe there is some user scripts? |

KittQB, great you found a solution! Maybe it should be evident, but could you tell me what the purpose of this is?.
I think one has to take care of two points
mount and umount of the external sd occur when you insert or eject the externa sd, for those cases you would have to modify /usr/local/Kobo/udev/sd (since the KSM installation replaces the original version of this file, use the KSM version) mount and umount of the external sd occur also, when you connect/disconnect the device via usb to/from pc. For those cases you would have to modify the files usb_enable.sh, usb_disable.sh, and usb_enable_id_like_nickel.sh of the KSM folder scripts_intern/usb/. These three files are concerned when you connect/disconnect using KSM. If you connect while running nickel you would have to modify /usr/local/Kobo/udev/usb. Note: kobomenu.sh gets executed almost each time you make a selection in the menu. Therefore, this is not the file you would like to add your modification. Before continuing your work, please upgrade to KSM 07. |

I did expect that one of your reasons for binding might have been: But I thought there might be further reasons. |

Sorry to post here, it might not be the proper thread.
I'm having big problems with my aura hd since yesterday when after having charged it as usual via usb witj my pc I safely disconnected the device from windows before disabling usb via KSM. Once in Nickel I tried to exit nickel and/or start koreader but got a message like items cannot be found.I then switched off the device. When in the morning I switched it on all I got was a blank screen. And this is the situation also now after several tries: 1) reset via the little pin hole next to the sdcard slot:no success 2) connected the device to various OS (Windows,Linux, Mac) none of them has recognized the device with or without the sdcard 3) pressing the reset button with a clip it seems the device tries to reboot (I see the little flash light next to the power button blinking) but then nothin happens and the screen still remains blank My setup: kobo aura hd with latest official firmware, latest koreader and ksm. No othe customization done Please give me some tips or ideas what to try cause I can't even think that such a device is dead in this way and there is no chance to have it working again as expected. Thanks for your help |

It does not matter in this case, since I would possible not know and other solution as to factory reset. But generally, it would be helpful to have more detailed information about the software versions. The latest official firmware might differ depending on your affiliate. Koreader has a stable version and nightly builds. I am not sure whether you have really the latest version of KSM, since you are posting in the KSM 06 thread, while the latest version is KSM 07, update 4.
