Such a thing does not yet exist, but should be feasible.

General note: I would like to repeat that everybody is invited to contribute scripts.
That could be interesting - but not everything needs to be done in KSM. A PC can have all kinds of file handling tools, to manage your Koreader library. Then it is easy to copy or sync to your device. This also means that your book files are backed up on your PC.

What I am currently doing when I need to make a screenshot (whether of a KSM or nickle screen) is to do it by telnet.
Code:
[root@(none) ~]# /mnt/onboard/.kobo/kbmenu/scripts_intern/div/screenshot.sh
You can find some information on enabling telnet in the spoiler under the heading "start and stop USBNet from the USB menu" of this post.

Even this check does not ensure success. Because of jshzh's problem I did a test today. I should mention that I have the KSM png files since October 2014 on this device and did not delete the database since then.
This is what I did: I launched nickel without involving fmon in any way so that I could handle the KSM pngs without triggering any scripts. I opened some of them, including exit_nickel.png, in order to put them on the nickel home. After rebooting I called nickel via the regular KSM "start nickle", and nickel refused to run. I started nickel again without involving fmon and dismissed the respective tiles. After that, "start nickel" worked again as expected.

Afterwards, I tried to repeat the whole thing, but nickel did not care whether those pngs are on the home or not.

I can now better understand why recently some people had difficulties starting nickel from KSM. I will therefore provide the option to start nickel without involving fmon.

I rarely go to Nickel, but when I do the only .png/launcher icon from the KSM package that I have used was the exit icon. So the exit icon is in the current position on my Kobo home page. (I usually just go to Nickel to use Settings, then use the exit icon or the power slider switch to leave.) Both start Nickel scripts (the no reboot and original) are working and the exit icon is working as expected.

Great! I'm trying with some numbers but the providers work very well. About the buttons, i will do a screenshot may be tomorrow.

I said the first option because don't know about the second. So, do the telnet option implies be connected to a PC?

It's a good solution to run nickel and reprocess pngs. I think that this script must go in the next release into tools/scripts menu.

Also, as a side effect of your start_nickel_no_reboot.sh, the old laucher.png for coolreader and koreader.png for koreader work again!

thank you
This probably borders on belonging in the Calibre forum but here goes.

I use Calibre to organize my books. Once you have all of your books in Calibre there are a number of steps you have to do. I'm going to assume you've never used Calibre, at least for this. I'm only going to explain how to get the books from Calibre to your Kobo. You should be able to find help for everything else in Calibre on the internet. This part took me a while to workout.

First you have to set up Calibre for your Kobo. I know this might seem long but you only have to do it once. Thanks to DavidFor for pointing out missed steps.
  • From Calibre's main screen click the Preferences button
  • Under advanced click the Miscellaneous menu
  • Click "Get information to setup the user defined device"
  • Make sure your Kobo is not connected. Click Ok.
  • You have to turn on USB support prior to connecting. From the Kobo Start Menu select "usb". Select "usb enable.sh" to turn on USB. Wait a bit until you see "USB support: enabled".
  • Connect your Kobo. Once Windows recognizes its there click ok.
  • Copy the information on the screen. You can copy it to the clipboard and paste it into notepad if you want.
  • Close all the windows until you're back at the Calibre preferences screen.
  • Select plugins and then expand "Device Interface plugins"
  • Select the user defined plugin, click "Customize plugin" and then enter the data you copied to the clipboard. For the Main memory folder and the Card A folder I use .Library (note the period). This will hide the folder from the Kobo software (called Nickel). Save that screen.
  • At this point Calibre should recognize your Kobo.
Now you need to get Calibre to copy things into folders on your reader. There are a number of ways to do this. I'm going to tell you what works for me. Others may chime in with better ways. Again you only have to do most of this once.
  • I have tags on all my books. You can add them from the main screen. These tags are a hierarchy. For example, I have tags for Programming, Programming.Dotnet, Programming.Web, Programming.Architecture, etc. When I copy them over there will be a Programming directory with all of the books tagged with Programming. Inside that there will be a Dotnet directory with all the books tagged Programming.Dotnet inside it., And so forth.
  • Once you have tags created you have to teach Calibre how to copy them over. Open the dreaded Preferences dialog again and click "Sending books to devices"
  • The key is the right Save template. I might have a four part tag instead of the two parters I showed you. So I need to account for that. My save template looks like this

    {tags:subitems(0,1)}/{tags:subitems(1,2)}/{tags:subitems(2,3)}/{tags:subitems(3,4)}/{title} - {authors}

I also use the same save template in the user defined device plugin properties. I don't know if that's necessary.
Now whenever you send your books to your device they'll be put in folders.

That should also put on (and maintain) calibre's metadata file, which can be searched and browsed in Koreader.

Probably yes. If you are in Nickel and connect to your PC Calibre will automatically detect your Kobo with one of the Kobo drivers it is delivered with. I'm talking about from within KSM you have to turn on USB support from the menu. I had to configure Calibre to detect my Kobo when I connected that way. You can skip the part about setting up the driver if you connect from Nickel. I don't know how reliably Calibre will detect whether a book is on the device or not. You'll also have to make a small change to the save template if you do it that way. But if it works it will certainly be easier that configuring the user defined driver.

Is KSM working fully with the H2O and firmware 3.12.0? Is Koreader working fully with KSM on an H2O with firmware 3.12.0?

If the answers are yes, everything works on an H2O with firmware 3.12.0, then please post how to install all the latest versions on an H2O with firmware 3.12.0. Thanks.

I was wondering about that. You missed KSM step

An alternative way if you are not using nickel is to disable the KoboTouch driver in calibre. Then use "Connect to folder". That will prompt for the folder to treat as a device. You can use any folder on the device. Calibre will then scan the folder looking for books. I assume this will also need USB support enabled in the KSM menu, but, as I don't use KSM, I'm not sure.

The advantage of this for non-nickel users is that the KoboTouch reads the database on the device to get what books are on it. If you don't use nickel, the database won't be populated and calibre will not show any books on the device. Using "Connect to folder" means calibre can find the books on the device.

Absolutly yes, but i tell you to wait for the next version because it will have many improvement in general and to HD & H2O in particular.
On how to install, please go to the open post of that thread.
