I am sorry that I didn't express properly what I want.

http://i60.tinypic.com/14170oz.jpg

This is how koreader looks while I am reading a book. As you can see, it doesn't have/has very small white borders on the side

http://i61.tinypic.com/24pdy51.jpg

This is how my reader looks like when it is turned off. The picture is selfmade and is exactly 1040x1387 pixel big, however it has very big white borders on all sides, and I can't make it any bigger, as this would just make the frame appear.

I guess the only possible solution is the one you described tshering.

(You can download the file by right clicking the link and selecting Save target as..)

The above is one I made, but it is made with white background.

Attached is one WS64 posted that I use as my fallback suspend image in KOreader.

I have run it through Gimp2.

Try it and see if you still get those white boarders.

Luck;
Ken

I have just thought about another possibility. Have look at this post, and maybe some before and after. You could try to set (and export) those values in poweroff.sh, before
Code:
sh $root/kbmessage.sh "-f $root/txt/poweroff_info.html" &
.

You could increase the size values and set the North and West positions to a negative value.
Maybe it is better not to experiment with the original poweroff.sh, but with a copy that you start from the "scripts" menu

I noticed an odd behaviour of KBStartMenu_04 on my Aura HD:

When I start nickel from the KSM, and then exit nickel via the exit_nickel script, then the KSM is rotated 180°.

Since I use Coolreader most of the time, it doesn't bother me very much.

Use enable_night_mode_andRebootAuraHD.zip of this post, or apply the update. In both cases the reader will reboot after exiting nickel.

Thx.

BTW - I like the Kobo Start Menu a lot. It's a great enhancement.

Have you tried this? The H2o apparently needs a different touch driver.

I am sorry to hear that your H2O is unresponsive. The simple pin hole reset only restarts the reader, therefore it will not help you. You need to do a factory reset. In post 2 of this thread Davidfor explains how to do it. However, I do not know whether this works with a modified device.

If this method does not work, you can only open your device and manipulate the internal SD card. Ask in the same thread as above ( https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=249560) for the image file, so that you can write it to the sd.

Another possibility is to mount the user partition of the sd and delete the folder "kbmenu" in ".kobo".

Alternatively, if you did the other changes correctly (cf. this post ) replace the old touch driver (.kobo/kbmenu/Qt/plugins/mousedrivers/libKoboTS.so) with the new one (get it here) to make the menu responsive.

Of course, best would be if you can manage to factory reset the device.

Thanks for your reply, I tried the method in post 2 and seems it still cannot reset my h20. In fact, I just brought my h2o on today and so I think I would not open it(and don't know how), maybe I can try to return to the buyer and see if I can exchange for a new unit.

Besides, you mentioned to mount the user partition of the sd card? Do you mean I need to open the h2o and take the internal sd card out for it?

Since it is evident that you manipulated the device, it might be difficult to exchange it. If you can, that would of course be the best solution.

Yes, you would have to open it. (But then of course, it will be even more difficult to exchange the device).

I understand that you did not replace the old touch driver with the new one. I think I should state this more explicitely in my post.
In order to prevent accidents as yours, more recent versions of the Kobo Start Menu launch the original Kobo software after every second boot. Did you use an older version? Or do you have any idea why this did not work?
