I do get this when I try to go to kobobooks over a VPNconnection in Canada or US East coast, not when using an VPN connection in US Texas.
When using no VPN, or a VPN in the Netherlands no problem either.

So I see that you can no longer email kobo for help? You have to fill in this form now or chat online.

hmm.... maybe it's for those days (like today), where they forget to drop the price on their Deal of the Day?

Just think - all you have to do is pay more, fill out a form, then wait a couple of weeks for a refund (and hope they don't just decide to remove the book from your library instead, as they've done to me a time or two).

The price match page is showing up fine for me (US).

This is encouraging. Presumably this means that they are going to pay more attention to their pricing and keeping it competitive, and aren't going to just rely on refunding money to the people who both bothered to check competitors and thought it was worth the trouble to not just shop the other guys instead.

Hopefully they don't wind up claiming Amazon doesn't count, because it's not "identical," being a different format. Also don't like that they only let you put a link to the competitor's page--given how prices can fluctuate and sales end, by the time they get around to checking it, who knows what the price will say?

When Amazon does a price match, they do it the same way (For books). You input a page and after two or three days, they may match it. Sometimes it takes up to two weeks. Amazon doesn't refund necessarily; you can report the lower price and wait for them to match. If you already bought it, you'd have to return it and wait for the lower price.

Who else is suffering from contest fatigue? I might be able to drum up more interest if they were fewer. As it is, they're not fun and the longshot odds of a truly good coupon aren't sufficient enticing.

And Amazon gift cards are a huge thing at Christmas. They really need to bring back the giftcards. I know there were problems/abuses with them so they had to shut them down, but when you get three amazon gift cards at christmas that's where you end up shopping.
