(For comparison, doing a similar process for Kindle books does not produce unreadable files for Play.)

By download issues, I meant that the books don't always appear in your library, and also formatting issues.

We are not allowed to discuss stripping DRM here in the forums. I would suggest visiting Apprentice Alf for that kind of issue and see what's new. I haven't been there in awhile since I've had no issues [*knocks on wood*]. The only time I've had an issue is when I've upgraded my Calibre, and as a result haven't done so since rolling back to 2.0. Good luck to you, I know that's very frustrating.

[I'd offer to help via PM but I'm pretty computer-challenged and really shocked that I got any of my library stuff to work at all. ]

Perfect, thanks. I wasn't sure if that was kosher to talk about here, and that would explain why I can't find anything on the forums! I did swing by Al and left a comment, but I don't think I've received a response...I'll go check!

If by "formatting issues", you mean differences between the version you get from Kobo Desktop and the one from ADE, try the Modify ePub plugin for Calibre. Selecting "Strip Kobo DRM remnants" and "Strip spans" will get you very close to the ADE version and usually remove the formatting artifacts.

I don't upload things onto my Play account. But I do sometimes buy books on Kobo and then read them on Kindle (and vice versa). I haven't experienced any corruption of the files (at least nothing so far) when I open them on Kindles.

I agree... the points are like, what, 10% off? And have to be saved up...

IMO, the points are just ridiculous. I did take advantage of the first lot they "gave" me as a gift and picked up a free book. That said, I've seen the number of points I've earned so far, and it will take so long to earn a free book, that I don't see the point. (No pun intended.) I figure I'll be lucky if I manage to get enough points to get 1 free book a year. Which is not exactly a stellar customer rewards program.

I'm ignoring the Super Points, it won't make any difference to me. I buy where it is cheapest and that is invariably Amazon. The coupons helped me towards Kobo but only because the discount pushed the price below Amazon. No discounts mean no Kobo purchases.
