i loose jailbroken after update to 5.12.5. recent method cant be use. it tell me "An invalid update file has been loaded on your device" when eject device after copied hotfix or KUAL to main kindle storage. 12.5.4 still work but now can not downgrade anymore with same error "An invalid update file has been loaded on your device" when copy update_pw4_5.10.1.3_factory.bin and eject to use update kindle like i did on recently firmware.

but when restart device i still se notify showed up at bottom screen

In order:

* The hotfix haven't been (and won't be for a while) repacked for 5.12.5, so, that's normal for now.

* You can't downgrade a Kindle, so that's not a surprise, either.

* Try this.


Sidebar: AFAIK, no-one has reported anything about FW 5.12.5, one way or the other, so: here be dragons.

Thanks NiLuJe, this method not works.

I copied 4 files to main usb (root kindle's storage) then eject and type ;log r then no thing happen and search resur dialog appears.. i relug to PC and 4 files stil there. i restart kindle and try again these steps but no lucks, 4 files still there.

the notify **** 5.12.x **** appear

I try again with this link but not works , i saw other people just restart twice. then i test it with copy some MRPI bin package for install into mrpipackages folder in main kindle storage like *bridge*, KUAL coplate and screensaver bin files. then i do restart twice and try again with ;log mrpi then everything work well. now i got my JB back... thanks for your help. many many much ^^

KUAL works and extensions installed works

now i doube check again trying copy Update_jailbreak_hotfix_1.16.N_install.bin into main kindle root and eject kindle safe remove from my pc. kindle popup the notify again ""An invalid update file has been loaded on your device"" but KUAL still works, can you recommend me something to cotinue like which package i shall be install for protect this JB or something else ?

yes. MRPI working and maybe since 5.12.5 from now with method twice restart with emegency.zip to get bridge work. just like trick but really work

how can i get kindle feedback book appeared like recently 5.12.1 and 5.12.2 ? with that flag turned on so we can revers/downgrade kindle fw to factory image.you or someone said that

It's part of the bridge on FW 5.12 (that's precisely what the "**** 5.12.x ****" message is feedback for).

If it's gone, something is doing sneaky stuff to it, because at a very quick glance at a 5.12.5 image, nothing appears to be openly doing something new about it.

(keyword being "quickly" and "openly". I have no desire/time/motivation to look into this further. There's a giant "stay away from 5.12.x" warning everywhere. Don't be surprised of getting burned when you start playing with fire).

Well, I do remember some of it: there's a real less being aliased in ZSH, for instance.
Python 2.7 is EoL!

it means you *might* be able to run the hotfixes on 5.12.5.

FW 5.12.x is still evil, and you should still stay as far away from it as possible. It's bound to get worse.

I have 5.12.2 (that's when I almost lost my JB, but I recovered it)
