Boggling at the idea of having an eink reader so large that this would be a good idea, though. (My Nook is 6"). Btw, for anyone else using it the first time: one joy of ezpdf is you double-tap text to automatically set the zoom to that with the margins perfectly cropped. I guess this isn't quite so much of a joy when you have more than 6".... |

Though my Nook has a system-wide force-landscape, which I'm using -- if you were setting it within the app might you want the "vertical" option?? I don't know, try both!

Thanks, Elizabeth_b. I've tried everything you proposed, but to no avail. I suppose the problem is that the M96 does not have a system-wide landscape option. Or at least i didn't find it.
You can force NeoReader to work in landscape mode, but not the whole machine. Anyone any ideas? Maybe there is a hidden option for system landscape? Maybe when rooting the device? |

Rotation Locker (from the Play Store) did the job.
But, Elisabeth_b, be prepared that you need some patience to work with this app on the reader. I suppose that on a regular tablet it is much quicker and more responsive. But the advantages of eink are obvious, nonetheless. ; ) Last edited by nalugu; 09-05-2014 at 01:16 PM. |

I don't have M96 but Onyx M92. I am fairly certain it will work the same way. It will depend on android application also. Some apps may not work with buttons. I hope somebody else answer this as well |

Confirmed, next/previous page works with the right/left buttons as well as joystick right/left on the M96. ![]() |

Hi everyone!
New to this forum and to the Boox products as well, but recently purchased an M96. So far I'm really impressed with this device, even with the bugs I have already encountered with its software. The features included out of the box in the onyx Neo reader app put most e-ink readers to shame in terms of its versatile pdf management. Having said this, there are a few key areas where the software could use some improvement. In an effort to help that process along, I decided to come on here and list a few of the errors I have noticed so far. Perhaps Booxtor and his team can release an update which will address these issues and fully unlock the potential of this e-ink reading device. The bugs I have noticed so far: -NO export functionality! (at least that I can see)---This was a huge reason for my purchasing the device. Would be great to be able to scribble notes on the pdfs and then be able to keep them by exporting a separate, marked up copy of the pdf (like what some video reviews of the m92 showed). However, as it stands, when I tap the export button nothing seems to happen. Even just having an option whereby one could simply keep the notes they scribble on the one pdf (e.x. they appear in the pdf even after the device has been turned off)without being able to export would be appreciated. -Certain apps will not open---Adobe reader and Adobe pdf reader in particular. -Scribble bar page turning glitch-----When the scribble bar is open in Onyx neo reader, and I press the page turn button, the device often skips several pages ahead instead of simply moving to the next page. -File renaming issue--Files do not always keep their new name once they have been renamed, and usually do not display it in the home screen or when being read. -TOC button does not seem to have a function---It does not seem to matter what pdf I open in Onyx neo reader, but clicking on TOC simply takes me to a blank screen with the tab headings "TOC", "Bookmark", and "Annotation". Not sure what the function is supposed to be exactly, but clicking on any of those ta heading also does nothing. Suggested Functionality to be added: -An in app accessible tab to more easily switch between several open documents. I seem to remember seeing a review video of another device (I think it was the M92 (?)) which had this capability. My apologies if these have all been heard before, but perhaps it helps to have these bugs listed in one place. If anyone has any advice on a current update or method which might fix some of these issues please let me know. Thanks for giving this a read over! |

You would have LOVED the Pocket Book Pro 902. The reason I bought it was to read journal articles in PDF. I still use it every day.

It seems a bit of a paradox, but I've noticed in these forums that people are more content with their 902 ereaders than others with the more capable 903 ereaders, precisely because they don't expect it to be good for annotating. |

So what is the overall verdict on the M96? Yes or no?
After reading Russian reviews of PB Ink Pad, I have changed my mind and will not order one. Sounds like the i86 is still a ways off, so I am leaning toward the M96. I would appreciate all thoughts and opinions on this decision. Thx in advance! |

I would love to order the M96 and finally have a single device for reading and note-taking. Unfortunately I have been disappointed before and will not order it before being able to try it out. Especially the writing, which is not enough to see on YouTube.
If there are any M96 owners in Vienna (Austria) who would let me try it for 5 minutes, I would be very grateful (and lunch is on me :-) |
