All right. A few brain teasers.

1. The little girl says: "The day before yesterday I was six years old, and next year I'll be nine already." The girl isn't very good with numbers. Or is she?

2. 33 black socks and 35 white socks are hanging on a clothes line in a dark attic. The light bulb has just died, but you need a pair of socks urgently. How many socks do you have to take from the line so you can be sure you have a matching pair?

3. When did America begin with an A and end with an e?

4. Jenny's father has five daughters. The names of the first four are Lala, Lele, Lili and Lolo. What's the name of the youngest?

5. A hunter leaves his tent in the morning, walks five kilometres southwards, takes a break, walks eight kilometres east, takes a leak, walks 4.9 kilometres northwards, shoots a bear and is relieved that he only has to drag it a hundred metres to get back to the tent. What colour is the bear?

6. Which English word is pronounced wrong by all those members of the rowing teams of Magdalen College, Oxford, whose native language is English?

She was born on 31st December. It is currently 1st January. On 30th December (day before yesterday) she was six. She is now 7. On 31st December this year she'll be 8 and on 31st December next year, she'll be nine.
