Victoria (something) was "posh" spice.
Emma (something) was "baby" spice
Mel (something) was "scary" spice
Another Mel was "sporty" spice
Victoria married David Beckham
One of the Mels was Mel C
Geri (Haliwell?) was "ginger" spice.

Only five spice girls in all.

I don't know where the Mama comes into it. Perhaps a song title?

They are all sort of mentioned in there (there's 5 of them). The answers refer to;

Queen Victoria (Victoria Beckham, aka 'Posh Spice')
Test-tube baby ('Baby Spice', aka Emma Bunton)
Emma (Emma Bunton, aka 'Baby Spice')
Mamas and Papas ('Mama' was a big Spice Girls hit)
Mel Blanc (There are two Mels in the Spice Girls, Mel C and Mel B, aka 'Sporty Spice' and 'Scary Spice' respectively)
Scary Movie ('Scary Spice', aka Mel B)
David Beckham (married to Victoria, aka 'Posh Spice')

In the quiz that this was in, I guessed the connection after the first couple of questions (same order as I gave them to you in). That then helped in working backwards to the other answers (e.g. I don't think we'd have known Ginger Rogers' real name, but we were looking out for an answer with 'Ginger' in it by that time).
