But the way the calculation got there was different. Jeez, we only have six nines to play with. Anyway, I'm not going to argue with you. I'll just make up my own rules on the next quiz I get to set.

So far w've had:

My example: 99 + (99/99)

Bilbo1967:
(999-99)/9
(9*9)+9+9+(9/9)
((9/9)*99)+(9/9)

orlok:
(9+(9/9))*(9+(9/9))
((99*√9)+√9)/9)*√9

I know of at least two more completely distinct solutions, and several more that I would accept.

OK, here are some that were missed:

99-9+9+(9/9)
99+(99^(9-9))
(and lots of other ways of essentially doing 99+1)

and two completely different ones:
999/9.99
(9+√9)*9-9+(9/9)
