Much Wenlock held an Olympic type event before the first modern Olympics that inspired Baron de Coubertin to set up the Olympics. Stoke Mandeville is the location of a specialist spinal injury hospital and was the site of an event that was the forerunner to the Paralympic games. So they are named after the two English towns that inspired the Olympic and Paralympic games. You win anyway, Orlok, so over to you. |
