Now to pose a quiz question. Hmm...

Well, we've had US-centric quizzes, so a UK-centric one: on children's TV

1. What was the name the villain in "The Tales of Noggin The Nog"?
2. What was the name Parsley the Lion's canine chum?
3a-f. What was the name the six main characters in "The Magic Roundabout"
4. What was the name of the little girl who owned Bagpuss?
5. What was the name of Captain Pugwash's cabin boy? (NB not Roger)
6a-c. What shapes were the three windows in Play School?
7. What was special about the programme Vision On?
8. What did WDYJSOYTSAGOADSLBI stand for?

Fifteen points up for grabs!

Adding two snippets to Bilbo's impressive answer:

2. Dill
3. Florence

We got a lot of British children's television programs when I was little.

Trivia: the English-language version of "The Magic Roundabout" was narrated (and written, I think) by Emma Thompson's father, Eric.

3. Yes. "I'm Dill the Dog; I'm a dog named Dill!"
4. Yes.

Bonus point for the trivia. It was indeed Emma Thompson's father. The video came without a translated script, so he just made them up for British TV.

Shayne: 3 points

Still two questions to answer:

5. Captain Pugwash's cabin boy
6. Third window shape in Play School

BTW, although Vision on had signing for the deaf, it was very popular with everyone. Great programme. Tony Hart did some wonderful art stuff. Even though I was never any good at that, I really liked watching it done.

Bilbo - you might as well ask your question while we wait for the last two answers.

Unless you want to wait for the last two answers from your previous question!

Both right. (Play School added a triangular window? Blasphemy! Ah - only in the last five years of the programme, when it changed in character.)

Orlok: 2 points

Don't forget Master Bates as well!

I worked for a company in Staines (a town in the UK) some time ago. On the same Business Park as us was a Siemens office. Rumour was that they answered the phone with a perky, "Siemens, Staines"!

Back with another question shortly.

Indeed, it was the great Frank Zappa. Dweezil played on the album as well.

Sweet dreams
