LOL! If it was, I wouldn't have put "1" in place of "2!" I never heard of Weir of Hermiston but certainly knew (and read) The Mystery of Edwin Drood...

I said "2" to myself when answering, and wrote down "1." Even looking at it afterwards didn't spark any idea that I'd screwed up. That's the story of my Numbers life! Oh well... I didn't have a good question ready anyway!

OK, here's another puzzle panel question.

I blindfold you and give you a stack of coins. I tell you how many of them are heads upwards. Then I ask you to put the coins into 2 stacks each having the same number of heads up.

How do you do it?

Even or odd number of coins makes no difference. No, it's by no means guaranteed that they're all heads up.

It's possible to do this no matter what the number of coins (well, more than one!) or number that are heads up.

Do you put the two stacks one on top of the other, so the combined stack has the same number of h-up coins?

No, two separate stacks, and it's possible to guarantee that both will have the same number of heads on in them.

And no, it's not by putting all the coins on their sides!
